What types of medical training is afforded MOS's that are NOT medical fields, i.e. infantry, MP's etc.? Basic first aid/CPR kinda stuff or is the option available to delve deeper while maintaining your current MOS?

Thanks.

It's a little beyond basic first aid and CPR. Battle Buddy training involves applying various sorts of dressings, starting IVs (on each other), giving emergency injections and such.

It won't make you a medic or EMT, but it will give you the confidence to support a wounded Battle Buddy until more skilled medical help is available.

And that's the extent of that training for non-medical MOS's? I ask because while Medic work is interesting (I took EMT-B training), I don't want it to be my primary MOS. I was just hoping there'd be opportunities to get either a secondary MOS or seek out more emergency medical training while working in another field.

Thank you, again.

As an EMT-B you are not going be too challenged by any of the regular basic infantry/MP/etc... medical training your will receive (you will learn to give an IV).

OTOH, if you wish you may have the opportunity to attend more advanced non-MOS producing training such as Combat Lifesaver (CLS). The fundamental difference being airway management, intubation, and thoracotomy/cricotomy procedures.
