Didn't know where to ask this sooo here it goes..

My tonsils are HUGE! Im going to a doctor on monday to see if they need to be taken out. Heres the problem, im supposed to go to meps in a week and a half.

If I get my tonsils out how long before
I can join?

I've heard that if you have surgery you need to wait 6 months?

You need to be completely healed and released from any follow-up by your surgeon. A week and a half won't cut it.

Ask your recruiter to check with MEPS for when they will allow you to physical. I'd expect a wait of AT LEAST six weeks to three months.

I've already completed the physical. All I'm doing is going to pick my mos and get my contract.

Don't you think on your ship day they are going to want to make sure nothing has changed since your last physical at the MEPS to make sure your end of the contract is still valid?
