Yeah, thanks, I appreciate it. I'm on alert for going to MEPS. They will call me AS SOON as there is a slot. So no delayed entry program for me. Funny thing is, I will be going to boot camp THE DAY I enlist...so that could very well be next week...or maybe 3 months. No telling. He said he'll give me the call and I can take it or leave it. Leaving it at this point isn't much of an option. He said being that I'm on this kind of status...then gives me priority over DEP kids for someone who is ready to go to boot camp on a moments notice. So I could go whenever. Infantry slots are weird with them....one might not be available...but a 5 year option could very well be. Kinda iffy, but i'd probably still sign it. I have to choose an MOS field regardless...so if it's not available then I'm gonna end up doing something else. Cos there is no way im going back to the reserves at this point

If you get stuck in an MOS you dont like the reserves may look like the hot ex girlfriend down the road. If you know what I mean. It sounds to me that the Marine recruiter will stick you in any slot they can. Seeing as your desire to get away from the Army is so intense. I would be damn sure I got a job I could tolerate for however long your contract is. The Army has some screwy regs right now(not allowing PS in), but in a year or two that could change. I know that's a year or two you can't/don't wanna wait.

I hope it works for you. You seem motivated and ready to go. I would've loved to have you in my team a few years ago when I was a teamleader. Good luck and don't waste anytime.

If anyone has any questions regarding current enlistment in the Army let me know and I will get you the answers. I am currently going through Recruiting school so I am at the source. The Army is now very competitive again to enlist, due to the increase of recruits. The recruiters are not making things up they are not taking PS along with people with GED and several other different stipulations. Things can change from one day to the next. Good luck. ^^^ Yeah the other thing is if you enlist 18X as Prior Service and don't make it to graduation the rumor is Discharge back to the street. So 18X is not a guaranteed in......you actually have to graduate the program.

Definitely would need to be careful with that. It sucks, but at the same time makes alot of sense that people wont be using this as a backdoor in to a "needs of the army" mos. I still have another 4 months or so waiting on paperwork.... would hate to have to fight another discharge... luckily the strength is there, just working on the endurance part of it...
