My husband and I were just married in Dec. '07. I've been in Germany since April and have yet to see/hear anything about his unit/battery's FRG. He's tried asking his chain of command but, they seem to be clueless. How is this possible? I want to get involved/be apart of the FRG here but, I don't know how to go about that because I can't seem to find them. Anyone have any advice?

There is a possibility that there isn't one. Not every command has one, especially if no one has volunteered to be the leader of it. Have you talked to any of the spouses in the command? They are usually the best way for information and contacts. Check with the command's webpage if they have one and see if it gives any information. Find the Family Services on base and get information from them. While they may not necessarily have an FRG there could be a Spouses Club on the base instead.

There is a website where you can check to see if there is an FRG for his unit/command. You can send me a message through my profile and I can pass that information to you. I am in Germany as well. I know there are a few out there.

What does (FRG)mean here? Those letters FRG means Federal Rep. of Germany to me.

Family Readiness Group

Usually you find the FRG in the Army. Other branches of service it's different.

Navy it's Fleet Family Services.

I forgot what it was for the Air ForceBig Grin

FRG is Family Readiness Group it applies to both the Army and the Navy.

FFSC is Fleet & Family Services Center that is what is on base for the Navy.

Marines it is Key Volunteers.
