Hello all...and thanks to whoever can help me here. I am the FRG leader for a very small unit. The 302nd MPAD, currently deployed, and due back home this summer...=). Ok, this is the problem. The mom of one of the soldiers, and who happens to be the one in charge of the phone calls, keeps on receiving the boxes she sends to her son, back. Not only that, but they come back in pretty bad state. She is a middle age lady, who seems to enjoy sending emails back and forth about this. I just wish I knew if this has happened to others, and if so, how often? She lives in New Jersey, and this has happened to her quite often. As for the rest of the unit, we seem to be doing extremely well, as nothing happens to the boxes we send. I just want to have info on how often this may happen, to let her know she is either not alone, or she can drop it.

Thanks...!

Sounds to me like she's got an incorrect address for her kid. She needs to get a hold of him and address it exactly as he tells her to.
I've never had a box come back at all, and I sent them out quite often while my hubs was deployed.

Have you asked what address she is sending it to? It could be a slight error in the way she is filling out the label & customs form. With this being a continuing problem that is what it sounds like.

If you want she is more than welcome to email me at navywifeinparadise@military.com and I can see if I can help her.

the biggest reasons boxes are returned is incorrect addresses and improperly filled out customs forms.

Thank you all very much. We also think the problem may be in the address she has. I have even asked her to send me her things, and then, I can just forward them to him. I will keep on looking into this.

I had one return to me this week. I sent it out on 24 Dec and it came back on 11 Jan.

It said on it that it was "delivered- unknown". The address WAS correct. This is the same address I've used for the past 2 deployments and boxes before this one and after this one arrived no problem.

I took it back to the Post Office on Saturday and they tried to blame it on the military. And that 'wherever he is returned it' I told her no way, my husband's office is the one that collects the mail for his unit. I just told them the address WAS correct, and I wanted it sent out again, free of charge. So they did it.

You need to ask her what the stamp on it says. That will help you know why it's happening.

My MIL had a box returned to her because the customs form had fallen off of it. She said it looked like it had been drop kicked to Iraq and back too! So far, I haven't had that happen yet. Other then double checking the address to make sure that it's correct then I don't know what the problem could be..
