I was wondering if a vet currently receiving disability for ptsd can go into law enforcement?

It depends upon the situation at hand.

Boers,
Be careful..please. My late husband had undiagnosed PTSD and went into law enforcement about 5 years after returning from Vietnam.
Very stressful career and it was that along with repressed memories that finally caused him a complete breakdown in 1991..he never worked again and died from another cause in 2006, while still battling severe PTSD (and the VA).

PTSD is a complex disorder which cannot be easily cured under the best of circumstances.

Be careful about the amount of work that that may undertake before undertaking any activities.

It would depend on the severity of the PTSD and what kind of town/city it was.

Some small town cop jobs can be relaxing.

It's important to make a reply when responding to an inquiry on this board.
