I have a serious question. Twenty years ago as a young, male USAF Lt I was sexually assaulted by another MALE Lt. I don't know who it was, only that it was one of two men. I was grossly drunk and couldn't do anything about it, and a blanket was thrown over my face. I told the OSI, and they ran me out of town. First, they accused me of lying and nothing happened. Then, they claimed the "sexual encounter" happened but was consensual. Then, they simply accused me of homosexual conduct. I was run out of the military. I demanded a courts martial but they denied me that avenue, and administratively removed me. Of course, the court-room procedure was just like a trial, they just changed the name and stripped me of my rights. Sadly, I am not gay but would have been proud to tell my review board to f-off if I was. Doesn't matter. The whole year-long experience, including the sexual assualt trauma, losing my girlfriend-almost-fiancé (while I was under threat of dishonorable discharge), and having my health deteriorate all lead to PTSD. I was a mess. It took me about 15 years to get back to reasonable form, but I still have symptoms. I am definitely disabled to some degree, and I cannot pursue certain career interests since some types of stress cause spontaneous tears (even if I don't feel emotional). The whole experience ruined my life. Under appeal, the USAF civilian appeal board left the case in neutral, stripping clean my record of references to the whole mess but not restoring my lost pay withheld during separation, nor awarding damages. I think I am even eligible to rejoin the USAF. My question is this - what can I do for compensation? Also, what about applying for disability that ultimately came about 50% from wrongul prosecution?! I can't really function fully due to my PTSD but I don't want to ruin any federal job opportunities that might arise in the future if I'm classified as PTSD and thus unworthy of a secret clearance or even unworthy of responsibility. I'm writing this quickly and can address the issue in further detail, but it's hard to even start writing about this and I want to get it out before I chicken out and go back into hiding.

Thanks,

An unwitting victim of the US witchhunt for gays.

Welcome to PTSD Info and Links. Here is a starting place http://forums.military.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/4230026980001/m/5960089421001

Also roam around these PTSD boards found on Military.com Health and Fitness and look for conversation that will help you. We have two boards on PTSD. I also recommend you seek a good VSO for assistance.
