No whining needed on this site. Any follow-up examination is stress-producing. It is much tougher for someone who is experiencing the symptoms of PTSD to undergo yet another examination. Hang in there and keep us up to date on what's going on. Every veteran is important.

I want to know why my two post answering "Drifter was removed. This is a forum where the intent is to assist as best we can, share as much we can, and care as much as we can. Removing my answers serves no one and does a disservice to all. Freddy

quote: The VA can be on time, just received a letter for a C&P exam almost to the day 2 years later. I think this is the minimum amount of time to have a review. Funny how the system is right on time when it benefits them. I have to vent somewhere so excuse me. Am already at 100% non-IU so what could be the reason for this C&P exam?
It is quite common on PTSD or other nervous disorder cases to examine 3 times in a 7 year period. I have observed many veterans having a follow-up in 2 to 3 years. VA will schedule exams until your condition is rated permanent. Your initial C&P examination results have a great bearing on the future exams.
I will cast no stones!

C & P exams can be especially stressful for PTSD claimants...hang in there and we'll help the best we can.

I posted this in another section……Hope I got the right one now. Well I had my C&P exam today. Had a positive experience. Good doctor…(contracted private physician by the way.) I’m wondering how long I have to wait to get the results. Any wild guesses out there? And again, thanks for the support. It’s very difficult to have a brain picking session.

Glad that your experience was a good one. Proof positive that sometimes we stress ourselves for naught. Now the wait begins, I suspect you'll hear from the VARO in the next 8 weeks, but that should not affect you personally, it is after all an administrative process and eyeballed by two or so people. Like I told you once before. "You'll be fine" and I stand by that. Wishing you well. Freddy

Responses from C & P exams vary depending upon the caseload and the center which veterans visit. In some cases they can be as short as a few weeks, in others much longer. Hang in there and best of luck to you!

The differential diagnosis between bipolar disorder and PTSD is very difficult to make. It should only be done be a competent clinician.

Just Remember that no matter what you are suffering from the VA will only rate you for one Mental disorder and rate the rest with it. An example being: PTSD with Manic Depressive disorder, and the like.
