Hope everything goes well for you, let us know how it turns out.
What eye surgery are you getting? I got PRK in January, although not all people have the same reactions to the surgery, I was down for the count for a few days....TOTALLY worth it, you get pain meds and eye drops and basically on bedrest for a few days. They do say though, the more you sleep, the quicker your eyes will start the heeling process, you aren't using them for anything else, so they can work harder on healing. Good Luck...and by the way, 3 months later, my vision is now 20/15 Can't get much better than that
I got in an acident aoubt 2 years ago, I wss driving down grand in San Pedro it's a four way stop. I looked right and left and right and left again, half way through the intersection a car hit my car, my car front face my car ended up on the oposite curb. I THINK the accidcent broke my cornea I had eye pain in my right eye off and on. I went to the eye doctor I use and he took pictures of my eye. He sent me down to another eye doctor to confirm the diagnoses eventually I went to an eye surgion. He said "the right eye has a cornea spilt" That's all I know. What is a cornea??
I got mine back in March, Intralase, still blurry and night vision sucks. Out of all the people sent from the cape may area, i'm the only one with negative results...lucky me! Fortunately they are going to fix it. Fingers crossed
Just had my one month follow up after PRK and am happy to say that I corrected to 20/15 and other than dry eyes have had no problems or complications. Wish I had done it years ago.
I had cataract surgery the 16th and 20th this month. That's where they replace the natural lens with a plastic one - kinda like permanent contacts, as I understand it. It was outpatient, took about 10 min. actual lapsed time and was totally painless with just a little scratchiness and dryness that was gone the next day.
My distance vision is now better than it was with my glasses but I will still need reading glasses for the close stuff. It'll be about 4-6 weeks before they heal completely enough to get a new reading prescription and I can't wait. Like akwaman, wish I'd done it years ago.
Your cornea split "fix" sounds similar to what I went through, except with stiches (in cataract surgery, they wait for the iris to heal around the new lens, hence the wait for a scrip). Here's hoping your experience will be as satisfactory and rewarding as mine. Godspeed your recovery and return.
