I just watched the story of the water rescue by the North Bend CG of 3 men after their fishing boat capsized. I googled it to try and find a link to the story to post but couldn't. Instead I found several other rescue stories which reminds me how valuable the Coast Guard really is. As a person that grew up in the Puget Sounds area on the water and one who love it, safety in whatever I do (sail, motor, surf, swim) is important and I appreciate those in the CG for being there in case . GOOD JOB all!!!

When I lived in Sequim WA I'd go to the CG exchange. Small station but very effective.

In my opinion the most rewarding job in the Coast Guard, SAR.

I agree with you 100% Dick. And for me, during my career, ATON and oceanography came in as close seconds. Far better than being "water nazis".

Just think of the SAR that didn't have to be performed because of dilligent ATON. My hats off to all the black hull sailors.
