Dammit ... what a way to begin the weekend. I hope we're able to find some who survived the collision. Prayers for the aircrews and families/loved ones involved.

Let me offer this upfront. As with the BP mishap....

Things are still ongoing and will be for sometime into the future. We all know this thread will be viewed by alot of people (family, Marines, media, us, etc). Please keep this in mind as you post. This affects many folks out there and it will be a tough day for all.

Thanks....MCPO John Long, CG-711

As we all pray this morning:

O Spirit Whom the Father sent
To spread abroad the firmament,
O Wind of Heaven, by Thy might
Save all who dare the eagle's flight,
And keep them by Thy watchful care
From every peril in the air!

My prayers are with the families, searchers and flight crews at the Air Units involved.

Even though, more commonly know as The Navy Hymn and written for seamen, I'd like to post an update verse for airmen:

Lord, guard and guide the men who fly
Through the great spaces of the sky.
Be with the travelers in the air,
In darkening storms or sunlight fair;
Oh, hear us when we lift our prayer,
For those in peril in the air!

My thoughts and prayers for the missing and to their families.

Not sure if CNN got it right but they said the C-130 was on a SAR case. If that's correct, add whomever they might have been searching for to your list of people to pray for.

Too sad, my prayers and positive thoughts go out to all involved as well as to those that take to the air and sea in our protection everyday.
Peace,
Dick

Fox news reported the same. The info about the C-130 being on a SAR case came from a Coast Guard spokesperson.
