Is Blackwater in Trouble? A former Blackwater employee and an ex-US Marine who has worked as a security operative for the company have made a series of explosive allegations in sworn statements filed on August 3 in federal court in Virginia. The two men claim that the company's owner, Erik Prince, may have murdered or facilitated the murder of individuals who were cooperating with federal authorities investigating the company. see article here. <http://tinyurl.com/n2xnbz>

Yep... Same old, same old. Nothing new hear. If Blackwater were in trouble, our good friend da prez would have fired them. Not only is this a bunch of good guys, we need them.

It never ceases to amaze me when people are willing to believe any number of sordid tales, regardless of their origin or proof. Can't let that get in the way now can we!!

I spent a year in Iraq. there is no doubt that Blackwater has a lot of good people, but I spoke with a lot of Army folks over there plus some ex-Special Forces folks and they said SOME (not all) Blackwater guys were out of control cowboys that were causing the military quite a few problems.

Very true. Just that there's a bit more accountability (in theory) in the military.

Nothing personal against BlackWater, I just don't like the idea of mercineries in general.

I went to their facility prior to my deployment to the Med back in '02. Very nice place. The only thing I will say is that their instructors had a hard time adapting the training so that a group of Coasties who could barely qualify on their weapons, could follow it.

Myself and the other Cutter SAI's tried to explain the situation, but they either didn't get what we were saying, or didn't care.

Here's a great read on the topic: "Big Boy Rules" by Steve Fainaru.
