Yes Jim I was talking about the VA "job" check... the disability will continue and since my back surgery perhaps increase.

What will really be nice is once this house is paid off I will get another $1600 per month in my retirement check...

Wray... Cool

Same goes with a lot of threads that become contentious Is this violating the rules, also? And if it is violating the rules, what do we do?

Oh, and Rob, thanks for serving the nation as a police officer. You are one of the ones that run toward trouble while the ones that do not appreciate you run away!

This one is a little more complicated, because it caused a major melt-down in the "In The News" forum. Let me give you a little background:

Our news team took offense at seeing the news forum being filled with discussions started with material from other competitor sites. We also had some of the competitors complain that we were allowing their material to be used here (for our gain) without their consent or payment for the use thereof... this started a nasty storm.

When the smoke cleared, the result was that members cannot begin a discussion by linking to material belonging to unaffiliated (competitor) sites... but... they can quote or cite the material (which oddly enough needs a link)... and supposedly that's OK. Why is that? I still don't know.

This issue of links is, by far, the most complicated and incomprehensibly insane issue that I have ever seen. Sometimes I get a migrane just thinking about it. But, there is light at the end of the proverbial tunnel.

I've mentioned this before and hinted to it many times over, but I don't know if anyone has keyed in yet. Every time that this has come up, it has been because a member complained to us about it. It has been because the post (and link) have been so blatantly in violation of every rule (including the rules of good taste) that someone complained. And then it snowballs, because if one gets shut down, then he/she complains that we are allowing others to remain while they got shut down.

Also, on a side note: Remember that the entire moderator team is less than 50 people, and we get thousands of posts each day. Some of our forums, like the conspiracy forum, just don't have an assigned/dedicated moderator and gets checked only if one of us has time... so a lot may get through until someone complains and brings a specific thread to our attention.

I quit that job after 5 years to take care of my Mother. Didn't work at all for 4 or so years.. After I put my Mother in a Nursing home, I took a part time job with the Veterans Administration. They later changed it to a full time position, and that is where I am now... (in the supply dept).

Other than that, I just take care of 2 houses, 1 swimming pool, 2 motorcycles, and 6 cars. I have some wonderful neighbors that like to socialize. We get together every weekend at someones house & pool for a "stress reliever" evening.

I did have a part time job as a Captain on an 88 foot Booward. The owner wanted to sell it, so he hired a full time crew to take it south for a few months. Here is that boat: http://www.regencyyachts.com/main.asp?-vessel_basic_inf...s_id=41882&curr_id=7

In two years when I hit 62 I will be retired full time. I'm gonna get my social security check, in place of the VA check, and be done.. It is time for me to spend all this money I have been saving & investing. As the saying goes, you cant take it with you. I don't see any point in leaving a mountain of money or things for my kids to fight over. They will get a house (paid for) when I go. If they want to sell it and divide the $$ that willl be up to them.. I'll be on the Harley (or Corvette) in the sky... If I go the other way I want to take my Buick 'cause it has a great air conditioning system. Wink

Well that about sums it up.. other than that I'm in my pool, having a cocktail, or on the computer.

Wray... Cool

I must admit Wray, that this is somewhat of a rare pleasure. I deal with so many people during my awake time (in the forums and on patrol) that I don't usually get to know much about the individual members. Thank you. I'm starting to see you in an entirely different light, and that engenders respect.

Just like the link I put in above.. it was just to show Rob the boat I was working on.. I doubt there are many here that would want to purchase it for a mere 3.2 million, or whatever the asking price is/was.

Just remember the old adage... "it's easier to get forgivness than approval"...Wink

Exactly...

If it's bad, the mods will remove the link. But if you're just trying to prove your point, there is room to move.
