Unfortunatly Pat, we dont have a dog in this hunt. The one CG member who roamed onto the "Video" thread to post his opinion of disagreement, quickly found the dogs there more like wolves. He was last seen fleeing back here for familiar shelter with a few new battle wounds.
Pat, yes ROB has done it again.. He needs a real job.... He can't even do this one well... He appears to be following Fred's lead... not following the written rules here...You know, the old "Do as I say, NOT as I do" Why the "GETTING SHAFTED" thread is in Point/Counterpoint, which is clearly for "CG discussions", it is also in the VETERANS thread, only goes to show ROB can't follow directions.....yet he expects us to. What is that saying, Lead by Example? (not here)
I would like to see some - any moderator "grow a set" (you know what I mean) and put that thread where it belongs.. in "The Soapbox" You know, the one that is for 'General Discussions including politics & religion'
Sindbad ---> here is your opportunity for high marks... go for it.
Here is what I see as funny, maybe even cowardly. I looked back at the spam thread today and saw it was locked. Funny thing is, the DOZENS of people who pointed out their belief (including myself) by posting a comment in that thread, had their posts deleted out of it. Someone can't take the criticism! Not even enough courage to say "My bad shipmates, that was not good use of my judgement!"

Guess I assumed the members removed their own posts. Not sure what I was thinking.

Its doesnt work that way. You have a "Feature on one" button and a "Feature on all forums" button. You cant change one to fit one forum and not show it on others.
Guys - I've said it once and I will say it again. When the powers to be (read Monster, Military Advantage, Military.com) above the rank of moderator and forums administrator say feature this article so everyone reads it then it gets featured across all forums - regardless of topic. The messenger in this case happens to be the forums administrator; any moderator can manage a topic this way too.
There was a squeak of protest recently when I featured a news item about an epic Coast Guard Rescue across all forums...
I know a *****in' sailor is a happy sailor (so they tell me but I think he or she is still complaining) but I disagree with your assessment on this specific issue.
Please contact MilitaryAdvantage.com and tell them how you feel; if enough people say something (I don't think that many MilitaryAdvantage.com decision makers read the forums but I could be wrong) to know how some of you feel...
I try to go with the flow, not always, but I'm trying. But this is getting out of hand.
Every discussion, every page, every Branch...come on, where's the sense in that? Maybe something like another 9/11 attack but a video or a pay issue, "Getting Shafted"?
They should have one forum that has all these allegedly important/interesting topics. There is absolutely no need to bombard the senses 24/7 with this BS. They could even put the one forum at the top of the list of forums. They could call it Rob's Essentials or something like that.
However, I digress. We know that won't happen because it makes sense.

Tim, so you are saying someone above Rob wanted him to start that thread and have it be at the top of every topic & every forum at military.com?
When you posted that one "Seen this" I didn't see it, and still don't on any other services board.
While I realize about the TOS, military.com must also realize we are the customers, and if they want to keep us they need to provide good & fair "customer service" to all....
Just went to the Marine & Army general discussion boards.. don't see the CG's "Seen This" anywhere -- musta got deleted...
Got to agree, after seeing what was going on for the last few days I put my self on my own little boycott. Good to see that things are almost back to normal. What ever that is.
I feel that the CG Moderators have done a good job with this board. I don't always agree with them, but feel they all give lots of latitude. Kind of like a BMC that lets you vent while you are working hard! I especially appreciate the ones that give a little more freedom with our posts when they are actively involved in the thread. Like Tony does on all of the Relief for Cause threads. What I don't like is the sudden invasion of moderators and administrators from outside our service that are jamming threads down our throats, censoring posts, and suspending posters that speak up. Smells allot like what we rebelled against and formed this country because of. It will continue until Monster stops it because it is hurting their revenue; the company needs to make money. What will stop it is them realizing they are not only hurting their own reputation, but also that of the advertisers on this site. Imagine if USAA realized they were affiliated with an organization that censors its customers? How about an organization that purports to support the military but only takes advantage of them? Not saying Monster, through Military.com, does this, but it could be inferred by many that they are. What should matter the most to Monster is that Military.com needs to provide a useful site, considerate of its members, and something its advertisers and partners would feel comfortable being associated with. In the long run, if they do not, then the members here can simply take their "click throughs" to another site, and look at someone else's advertising.

Seems this has already been completed. Just not by Monster or Mil.com.

After seeing something on another site, this is being done by many members. Once I signed up, I realized that many of the members I have seen before. The more that sign up, the more it seems like old times. I do not post much. I really enjoy reading everyones thoughts. But recently, it does not seem as much fun. I think I will finally sign off and continue on other sites (the one everyone knows).
Those that decide to stay, it has been a pleasure to hear your thoughts.
