We lost one of our own this past week. BMCM Dan Sutherland (ret.) crossed the bar for the final time. he was my hero, my mentor and my very dear friend. I will miss him dearly. One hell of a Surfman. Please say a prayer for his wife, Karen. Fair winds and following seas old friend. tks. Dave

That was so sad my dad was surfman too I miss him to this day

Our prayers are with his family and loved ones.

I'm also saddened to hear of his loss. If memory serves me correctly he was Fred Heistuman's father in law. My thoughts go out to the family.
