Which do you think helped you the most in getting the job? Your Army time or your CG time?

Hard to say. Without a doubt the GM experience and deployment to the middle east along with the armorer certs I obtained helped with my first non-high speed contract in Iraq. That in turn led to my subsequent employment. As for my current gig I would say that it was a combination of the 2.

Long time no hear Hombre. How have you been? Still kicking around over in the sandbox I see. Seems like forever ago when we were "putting with the Captain" at your mast in Guam. I see our old skipper here at HQ quite often. The sea stories from our adventures in Guam get a little "better" everytime theu are told. Hope this finds you well dont be a stranger.
Cheers! Beer

Note to self- Watch where you wear your uniform! Big Grin.

Good to hear from you! Are you at HQ now? I thought you were in P.C? When you see him tell him I said hello. Yeah, I am still kicking it here. I will stay until the last hello lifts off the roof of the Embassy with me hanging on the skids. Take care.

Sorry bout that, from what the Blackwater trainers told me when I was there, they are looking for highly trained MLE types.

On a side note. There are other companies out there aside from Blackwater. SOC-SMG, EODT, Triple Canopy, MVM, DynCorp. Armor Group, Aegis Defense, etc...Many of them pay close or equal to BW. I have friends that are working for all of the above at the moment. I have worked for a couple of them myself.

Of course, they don't have the sexy BW name and the cool logo, but the money spends the same.

Hmmmmm, the SEALs and Delta Force have been doing this for a very long time. It's great to see the Coast Guard training to prepare for that type of tactics but I have a hard time agreeing with the Rear Admiral's statement...no disrespect meant towards the USCG teams.

I personally think its great, because its improving the coast guard. Yes the Coast Guard is a life saving Organization, But in todays world this is something that is needed. I know that you dont join the army to do coast guard things, and you dont join the coast guard to do army stuff. But this really puts the coast guard a step foward. especially now they are DHS and not DOT. Im glad its turning into a whole new coast guard.

I was referring to the link above. It looks as if it was fixed after I sent them an email.
