I signed up on Fred's Place back in 96 or 97...too many whacks to the nugget over the years.

I was there from the first edit date shown of 3/29/97 and like Wray, probably before...Soon to be 12yrs, 6 mos...That'll make a man feel kinda old...

I too would like to thank Mark Wood...Just makes sense if anyone would have this kind of information, he would...

On further investigation, I find I was not on the listing on the one date archived in '97, but I was on the e-mail directory for Jan 9, '98.
I guess I probably registered in late '97.

First post on Fred's Place was August 07, 99. I didn't realize it has been ten years already. Times flies by quicker as you get older.

I too am on the March '97 list.

My husband died in 1999 (Floyd Stormer CWO3) I joined Freds Place in about 2000 or 20001

I began skulking about the discussion boards around the turn of the century. I forget what my original 'name' was but when we did the Rating Merger in 2002 I transformed from my former TC self into an IT, hence the name IM_IT. So it has been close to 10 years ....

Found myself in the December '98 E-mail Directory so it's going on eleven years for me. I had amassed six or seven-hunderd posts, a trifle compared to what some of the "power posters" have done, in a previous incarnation prior to Fred's affiliation with Military.com.

Years ago I sent Fred a check when he was soliciting donations to upgrade his server. It wasn't much but it was obviously well spent as I'm still having fun all these years later.

Why so harsh on Fred? Did he do anything you wouldnt have done? He built the site from the ground up. He was offered the opportunity to sell it. He did. That doesnt mean he "sold out" does it?

Wasn't meant to be harsh.. just the facts, and a term I guess. I may have very well done the same thing. I was just trying to point out Fred doesn't own any part of Military.com or Fred's Place any more.

If you feel the need to edit it, feel free..doesn't matter to me.

Can't recall when I registered but my account has been 'attacked' a couple of times so I have had a few various names. But I have been around since Fred's Place. And I used the site when in CGHQ to get the field's views. That's more than 10 years easily.

I go back a little farther than the "Registered" date shown below. Sometime in 1998, but I certainly don't recall for certain - not that it really matters a great deal anyway!
