Hi, everybody.

During my usual daily search for ancient Volkswagen bus parts from my desktop here in Phoenix, I happened across an ad on Seattle's craigslist which lists as for sale what is described as being a 1930's-era ex-Coast Guard surf boat. And the price being asked for it seems to be quite reasonable. Anyway, just in case there are any folks out there who might have been looking for one of these elongated bobbers, here's a link to the ad ...

Casey

An if you don't have the inclination to keep the old hull in bristol shape, there is/was an outfit in Everett, Washington called Mosquito Enterprises that builds a fiberglass version of that particular hull, taken from an original surfboat.

It is used to make small steam launches for enthusiasts and many other versions for those looking for maybe a small inboard diesel "picnic launch".

The lifeboats used in the movie "Titanic" were adapted from this particular hull. by the same company.

They did have a website called mosquito enterprises, a few years ago.

Hope they have a lot of money to put into that.. and to maintain it.

I wonder what they plan to do with it?

How about sending an e-mail to the person who listed it? Wink

There's also an 82 foot Point class boat for sale listed here:
