People actually watched "60 Minutes", the local paper was LOCAL versus regional, Time and Newsweek really did report some news (they used to be a little thicker too), National Geographic was simply informative rather than politically correct.

I don't know about you but I get frustrated every day trying to separate fact from fiction. The most popular "news" magazines these days are things like People and Entertainment Weekly. That's not news. Does anyone actually READ anything these days?

Yep, I had a local paper for many years. Now it's regional and I don't get my local news very often

My kids, grand kids and great grand kids ask me questions about my life. I cannot convince them that parents hit us (on the behind with their hand) Said "shut up when adults are talking" I interupted a lot. "ditch school and you'll be in fear for your life"
I took that all in. My grand kids mostly do as they please
