Ok, so I finally got the wife to take a day off on Monday so we could go to the movies. We have a 4 year old daughter and every once in a while we take a day off during the week to go see a movie while she's at school. We go to the first showing at 1200 cause usually that means we're the only ones in the theater.
So there we are about to watch a movie, the lights go down and the advertisments start before the previews. All of the sudden there's this guy who can't stand being behind a desk, he gets up and starts running from one end of the country to the next talking about serving his country... Then all of the sudden he's standing on a cliff, over looking the ocean in ODU's saying he protects his nation from the Coast in the USCG.
Now my wife is in the CG to, we both looked at each other and about fell out of our seats laughing. Don't get me wrong we were laughing because we didn't see that coming at all. I thought at any min it was going to say in the Army or Marines so it was a huge surprise.
I have to say after we calmed down we were both excited to see the Coast Guard making that kind of move for recruitment and we were both impressed with the advertisment.
So I come back to work on Tuesday and see that on Monday the CG released a msg stating the CG was making this move and I have to say I am very impressed. If you haven't seen it, here you go!

I'm a fan of the commercials. It does appear to be an Army commercial at first, but I still like it. I know others on here aren't into it, but to each his / her own.

I saw the commercial on the pre-movie propaganda but I had previously see it on the net, so I knew what it was within the first few seconds.

This was early last month.

It was the male version. I've yet to see the female version.

he he he....if he "wasn't born to sit behind a desk", he's really going to hate all that paperwork that comes with any job in the Coast Guard. Big Grin

But I can relate to the "hating office life" stuff.
