I've been here almost 8 years--the last 22 months or so as a volunteer mod. Please provide feedback to this moderator on how you perceive my performance as a moderator. All comments and feedback welcome, especially expressions of love and affection. Wink

Be nice or I'll have the other mods circle their wagons around me and...

....oh, wait. That's a different thread Big Grin

I will close the poll June 1, 2008, and if a minimum of 100 votes have been received, I'll decide whether I stay on or move on. If my "grade" average is 70% or lower, I shall clean out my locker and rack and depart the mod berthing area.

If my grade is 71% or higher, I will install rack curtains and light the smoking lamp on the rec deck, and light a fat cigar.

Popcorn

P.S. My fellow mods, please let the fur fly a bit, and I'll take any punches on the chin as constructive review. Oh, and please, no mod voting. Smile

Question:
If you could give me (sindbad), a letter grade based on observed moderator performance, what grade would you assign?

Choices:
A (91-100%)
B (81-90%)
C (71-80%)
D (61-70%)
F (0-60%)

I read that one thread in question...

I sure hope this poll is sarcasm.

What a crock of whiney B.S.!

A Mod will never make 100% of the members happy even if there are only two members in the whole forum.

As I advise on boards I work, "Don't like something, take it to the top. Otherwise, the door swings both ways".

In spite of you letting your old Rambler run out of gas on the Bay Bridge, with us, shall we say
slightly buzzed inside, I will still give you a
A. I have hope you have matured Roll Eyes and no longer try to see how far you can go on "E"

I'll answer a question with a question ... why don't Coast Guard cooks ever ask, "How's it taste?"

So, on that note, you should perhaps reconsider your threshold of acceptability similar to the cooks, that is ... "did anyone die from botulism today?".

I gave you a B (no minus, no plus). I don't think any mod here, current, future or past can break a perfect record as you will always tinkle in someones Wheaties at any day or moment. And from the years of scanning messages from those who have no right to pen ANYTHING, it's in my nature to find something wrong from people who at the stroke of the keyboard, put someone OOC while allowing others to walk on buy. Not that you have done that, but as the other thread has clearly shown, LOTS of things fall through the cracks around here. Lots of people get wet Wheaties. But in the end, if you can't put aside the attitude off duty and have a beer with another who wears the same uniform, it says a lot about ones character.

Does begging and pleading count as foreplay?

All the mods do a fine job except for inconsistencies sometimes. I mean, I got suspended for a joke about our current President (I guess that's kind of redundant) but others can level personal attacks at the likes of Rush whatever his name is or the current dems running for office without consequence.

Besides, you're a Cardinal fan, so that makes everything all right.

Fellow Sherman sailors - TY! Cool
(John...wasn't it more fun taking a running acceleration up the Grapevine?!) Big Grin

tc1uscg - well said!

Paul - guilty of not being perfect; I've tried to refocus on paying closer attention for the tongue-in-cheek and fine line on "personal" atttacks. It still should be attack the message/policies vs. the messenger, or person, IMHO. Go CARDS!

JAC - my day job is just fine, thank you! And I appreciate your time away from your day job to fine tune the dialogue here. I'm going to Hallmark for your card now. Wink

BTDT - it depends, will a past suspension get me a better grade? Big Grin

sindbad sends

P.S. Fellow mods, can we get a "circle the wagons" smiley?!
