We'll be spending ours on home improvement projects. If Pat Flynn's prognostication is correct, we probably won't be able to afford to travel anywhere.

So that this thread won't find itself on the Soapbox, another good place for the "stimulus" money would have gone toward correcting proglems of new ship construction for the Coast Guard's deep water fleet. The money could have also gone to some other capital projects that would better help keep the money here in the United States and provide jobs with living wages & salaries.

However, if I were da king, I'd rather see the money going toward paying off the national debt instead. That said, the real purpose of the "stimulus package" is not to stimulate the economy (though it might stimulate that of a few factory workers in China), but to buy votes.

Fiscal conservative, social libertarian sends.

I will probably invest that money into upgrading the computer system at the office. Maybe I’ll put in another big screen television hooked up to the output of a computer so clients can better see the presentations made to them. Either that or I’ll buy a new IMac with a 20” display. Anyway you cut it, it’ll be invested into the business (so I can earn more and thus, be taxed more).

My wife keeps telling me it goes as a credit on my estimated quarterlys, so I will not be seeing a check, but if I did I would blow it on a ski trip with the family up in Maine before the snow peters out.

IS3, I claim everything that is legal to claim. I don’t take questionable deductions. So yes, it’ll be considered an investment on next year’s taxes. But hopefully, that minor investment will help me make more money which leads to me paying more taxes.

Not sure about 600, but my 2,400 will be spent on home improvement supplies, a 22LR conversion for my AR15, and probably some furniture. I think the firearms industry is now covered.

I like the 1 diamond idea though.

Rigt now, the feds are claiming that the rebate will not be taxed by the IRS but they can't speak for the respective state governments themselves.

I seem to remember being told that if I stay in for 20 or more years, medical AND DENTAL CARE for myself and my legal dependants would be taken care of at no extra charge to me.

I guess that the wise individual should salt a portion of his or her rebate check away when government turns on their word and April 15, 2009 comes about - well past the next presidential election and inauguration.

I will be using my $1500 (married joint/1 kid) to pay of my mastercard so I can stimulate my economy by NOT having a payment!
