Hmmmmmm, last I recall from my visits there, they had a pier. Is it in such disrepair they require a new one?

Actually yes. The Eagle has not been able to tie up to Eagle pier since I've been here (2007). The current pier is wood/timber construction and is quite old. The Eagle has had to tie up at the New London pier down the river.

Well, it appears they are getting a new one now. His list is all DHS omnibus budget spending. I wanted to make that clear since two CG items appeared in the top 10. I dont think the Senator has any issues with the CG.

I'm confused Confused

Are these things that he has requested, or things he has identified as being wasteful spending?

those don't really fall under the general definition of "pork."

Senator McCain is from Arizona. If he pushed legislation through the Senate to fund a $25M project to fund a VIP Visitor's Pavilion at the Grand Canyon that is not only not needed but is also unwanted then that would be pork.

Getting some needed line items for the Coast Guard in the DHS Appropriation Act isn't pork, its called helping out when its needed.

And it catches on fire very easily... especially when some dumbazs tries to put out the fire with a fuel hose in May 1980 (I wasn't that dumbazs, and I'm not saying what my role was until I'm sure the statute of limitations has expired)

The ever expanding federal complex in West Virginia is a tribute to Sen Byrd's eagerness to spend other people's money. Spending money on a new pier makes more sense than the millions the CG spend maintaining the National Maritime Center in the historic maritime city of Martinsburg, West Virginia.

One of the most hilarious posts I have read in a while. Got me laughing, thanks for that.
