I posted on his thread where he expresses concern over thousands of U.S. service members not being treated fairly in regards to the tax rebates.

I mentioned he might want to start a board wide thread about how thousands of Coast Guard disabled Retirees are still waiting for several thousands of dollars due to the CRDP back pay issue.

Which also to borrow a phase" it hurts where it is felt the most... in the wallet."

It appears his response my concern was:

"Greetings all,

I've taken the time to clean up the usual whining about this being linked all around the forums.

This is thread is not 'stickied' anywhere, it is linked. And it is linked far and wide, because it affects all services, all ages, all spouses and dependents that fall into this category. Furthermore, it hurts where it is felt the most... in the wallet.

So... let's keep it clean. If you wish to complain, you are more than welcome to email me directly... but keep it off the thread. This is a friendly request.

I guess bringing up problems with the tax rebate and who should or should not qualify is important. But mentioning that CG disabled Retirees who have been waiting years to receive several thousand dollars actually owed to them is just whining. Frown

Larry,

Please don't try to apply logic to the running of milcom. It is unwelcome and not recognized. Angel/Devil

Another thing of interest from the other thread. Wray got a warning for voicing his opinion about the thread. The following remarks apparently are fine. Topbaxter's remarks are in red. Fourstrings are in blue. Fourstring's first post was right after a rant by Topbaxter, that ended with "Anymore questions?"

Bp checked regularly at V.A. Whatta ya writing a book? also, this thread is in the Marine section, so what's a shallow-water-squid like you doing here, other than looking for touble? Shove off Popeye!

If I had a dime for everytime I ran into a rude and arrogant Marine...

Yeah, your a millionaire, your also a snotnosed punk! You started this by making it personal, with your wise a** comments, so we know you,ve got nothing to offer this thread, but your emptyheaded, low-selfesteemed inadequacy.HEY MONITOR, WAKE UP! AND GET THIS JERK OUT OF HERE.

It is very interesting that refering to someone as a REMF can lead to a permanent ban, but the above insults which I feel are as equal or worse don't even get a warning. I guess Rob was too busy going after Wray!

This brings up a good point. If the Robster keeps on allowing the all-hands-spam, then more of this "un-welcomed" mixing up might just backfire on them.

Maybe it's not Rob you should be asking about. I think or thought he was the admin guy for the CG portion and a bottom feeder for the others. They all have 1 admin type, then regular mods at least that's how I understand the process. What would have been interesting of 4String got booted but that other chump didn't get ANYTHING. Now, that would be worth going to Vince and waking up Fred from the grave about. But I would hope that the one jarhead isn't the true colors of the others. I read of plenty of marines who where more then thankful that our shallow water puddle pirates were there to pull them off the beach when their normal ride, the navy, was going to leave them there to die.

As I recall the poster refering to someone as a REMF was given many temporary warnings, temp bans, a permanent ban, aloud back, more temp bans, and finaly another permanent ban. I do not know if this Marine has a similar history, if he does than he should get the same treatment. Wink

oldswimmer,

You are correct, but "the one whose name may not be spoken" Razz was put in time out for using the term REMF, which started the ball rolling. topbaxter wasn't even given a warning. Wray got one for posting an opinion.

I was just trying to access the "GETTING SHAFTED" thread to look at a post by one of our suspended Coasties and guess what appeared.

"You have not been given the permission(s) to access this page. You require the following rights to view this page: 'View Content (This Forum)'. For a full list of permissions you have on this community, please visit your Personal Zone Permissions page."

I guess we are not supposed to voice our opinions or view the thread to see what caused other long time members to get suspended without any warning.

ALL HAIL THE MODS!

I get this too and I haven't posted anything at all on that thread, so I don't think it's selective, probably applies to everyone.

Considering the number of people who griped about being forced to see that thread on so many different boards, my guess is that someone (passive voice Big Grin) overreacted and made sure that nobody could read it.

I just didn't like the fact of getting "hijacked" or redirected to another part of mil.com.

Walter.. why not just email rob with your issues. He does respond, when he has time. I went a couple weeks when I got suspended but got a response with the help of fred. Think he was in some kind of training. But be careful of which way the wind is blowing when you go on the offensive. JAW..

Well, let's see, he promised to respond and explain the discrepancy in enforcing some of the rules...that was what, a week ago. I don't sit around worrying what Rob will do to me. If he doesn't want me here, then that is his choice, not mine. Anyone who can't take criticism shouldn't be in his position... Cool
