Hooligan1790 put in a thread of the top ten filmed rescues. The press release also gives the top ten rescues over the years. You might like to see these and comment upon them.
I listened to the rescues and I didn't hear one voice that sounded scared, they did their job professionaly and cooly. But I'll bet they got the shakes after it was all over.
God Bless the Coast Guard. My dad and all his brothers went in of course they lived on the shores of Lake Michigan and that's what a man did. Either college which was not a choice because they had little money or the Coast Guard. My husband spent 28 years with the Coast Guard, he got out when Adm Smith was going to transfer him to DC. He'd moved his family too often.
