I was there last year as I was passing through PCS. It's a very good event thanks to USO New England and the ISC Boston staff. If you can get a room at Mariner's House, your set. Park at ISC and everything's walking distance. Outstanding family-friendly opportunity to experience Boston on Independence Day, if you're in the area.

My family goes to the "Picnic in the Park". 5 mile road race, sack races, egg toss, old fashion bands, bicycle and doll carriage parade and much much more.
I end up jamming with a fiddle player for a while and meeting and chatting with all my neighbors and town folk. Very old fashion time!
Happy 4th!
