The young lady that did this as a tribute to the men and women of the military really hit a home run. With over 18 million views in just a few short weeks, this is one of the most stirring and impactful things I have ever seen.

Enjoy.

Dave

When I first saw this, I had a HUGE rush of memories of my three tours in Vietnam. In my first tour of Cam Ranh Bay, I remember the line of caskets with American Flags draped over them, being loaded into military cargo planes for the long flight back home. I remembered the rocket and mortar attacks at Phan Rang, sitting in bunkers looking each other in the eyes and wondering if this was our time. Most of all, I remember seeing Jim Brookshire's body, my roommate, the morning I left for leave before returning to Saigon and eventually starting Radio First Termer. But most of all, I remember the way WE were treated when we returned home from a lost cause, a lost battle. It is something that I will carry with me the rest of my life and will do everything within my power to BE SURE that it NEVER happens to ANY SOLDIER ever again.

They are all our kids. When my nephew came home on leave from Vietnam there was a man in the 'Pick up" lanes that heald a sign that said
BABY KILLERS
I told him if my nephew came through that door and he wss still standing with the sign I'd run over him. My nephew came through the door the man was still standing ther and I turned my car to hit him. He was too fast and jumped back into a line of traffic. Sad Big Grin I wish I'd have turned the wheel faster and hit him

Yeah.... when I finished my last tour and left Saigon.... I attended a party with some friends. I had made me a Vietnam Ring with a Dragon, U.S. Air Force, Saigon, etc. As I was sitting on a couch next to an attractive young lady, she glanced at my ring and asked me what college I had attended, I replied "University Of Saigon". She then stood up, asked me if I had served in Vietnam, which I responded with "Three Tours"..... she then threw her drink in my face and told me that I killed women and children and was nothing more than a criminal. This was as CLOSE to decking a woman as I have ever come. I didn't.... but I wanted to. Others that were there began to berate HER to such a degree that she left. Will never forget that... ever.

Some people have no common sense and others no sense at all Mad
I think I would have stumbled and thrown a drink in her face!

Yeah.... unfortunately, I was brought up never to hit a woman.... plus.... I had no drink to throw. That said, if I had a drink, I would have returned the favor.
