Wray... Cool

Well Wray, now that I think about it ... I'm sure it was signed 'The Chief' at the bottom, so that must have been you! Big Grin It was hanging on the bulkhead in the Chiefs Mess on CGC DEPENDABLE (WMEC 626) when she was homeported in Panama City. Now that was a town for a young seaman to be stationed in.

You probably did know some of my Chief's back then. The BMC Craig Wood, QMC ? Giblin. They both retired with both stars eons ago. I think QMCM Giblin spent a lot of time on the Polar breakers as a QMCM. Those two guys knew so much, and I learned so much ... and they knew how to have fun too!

Oh, didn't big Al get his idea about inventing the internet from you? Maybe it was another Chief. Wink

Have a good one!

Jim,
Shortly after I reported aboad ANVIL, Craig took over at the ANT. Back then Frank Tupa was on MALLET... I can not tell you the stories.. wow did we have a wild time down there.... Craig & Frank could think up some crazy $hit...

We planted two buoys at the Group entrance to their parking lot, which was located on the Navy Air station.. I'm sure the Group Commander knew who did it, but he never said a word...

Frank would normally run South & I would go North... It was nice when we swapped runs.. My guys loved their trips into Mexico...

God the fun we had then.. We are lucky to be alive..

Oh, Craig relieved me on ANVIL... I may have a picture of our COC... He is back in San Antonio now....

Wray.. Cool

I served with Gib on PSTAR in 83 ... he was old as Moses then, so if you knew him as a QMC, that makes you ... very experienced!

I attribute that to CWO4(ELC) Kirk Rose circa 1977. at LORTESTFAC Caribou, ME. Kirk & I had our differences, but his statement was the first time I ever heard it.
