Guys, I will admit, I have been slacking. Everytime things calm down in the office, something else kicks up. First watermains, then the inauguration, and then H1N1. Everytime the EOC activates, I have to draft an after action report to go before council within 30 days.
I havent forgotton ya shipmates. Tomorrow is my first day off in weeks, and I am going to make it a point to get these out. Yes, there are still a few left, send me your address at aloconte@yahoo.com. Wayne I dont remember seeing an address for you at all. T |

Brother, I was just messing with you. Sounds like you have been busy. I am transferring in June and have to leave sunny Florida for cold UpState NY. Email me your address and I will send you a CGIS coin if you don't have one already.

Wayne: Are you giving away a personal (non 1-800) coin, or an official one? Inquiring minds want to know... Carpe Debier: Seize a Lager! |

Jerry,
I didn't know we even had an official coin. Wayne |

Jerry,
After thinking about it more...it is the approved/official coin from a personnel order. It is just like the 1-800# coin, with the exception of not having the 1-800# stamped around the edge and the background behind the badge is black. Wayne |

Wayne:
The first two orders that were made had the badge on the black background. The first official coins were made with the US flag behind the badge and the 1-(800) around the edge. It's also bigger than the originals. I know the latest personal ones mirror the official ones, just without the phone number. I didn't order any, so I don't know which size they are. I did buy a large quantity of the lapel pins, though. Carpe Debier: Seize a Lager! |

I only want one coin... and that would be a 1933 Saint-Gaudens Gold Double Eagle.
All these collectibles, be them coins, beanie babies, or most anything else turn out to be worthless.. My mother in law used to pay big bucks for "David Winter Cottages" She passed away a few years ago and we can hardly give them away.... I have a few Jim Beam Corvette decanters, but at least I have a fifth of aged bourbon in each Wray... |

Wray: The original $7.5M version, or the new knock off $42.00 version? Carpe Debier: Seize a Lager! |

Wray,
Good point about being worthless...price wise. However, the coins will be able to tell my Grand kids a story when I am in my rocking chair slobbering all over myself. You want to hear something funny, they are worth more than the Barry Bonds, Mark McGuire and A-Rod baseball rookie cards I have. Wayne |

Jerry,
I can send you one if you like. You are correct..it is smaller than the 1-800 one. I have some lapel pins as well and they are round with the same background as the 1-800 ones. Wayne |

No, that's okay Wayne.
I still have a number of personal coins, and a box of official ones for the office. Thanks anyways. Headed to Mid-Atlantic, huh? Good luck! Carpe Debier: Seize a Lager! |

Jerry.... The origional of course....
Wayne, in theory that is nice about the grand kids, but do you honestly they will take the time to sit around and listen to stories? The kids of today are not like the kids of 30, 40 or 50 years ago.. and in another 20 or 30 years there is no telling what they will be doing.... But.. it does sound good Pool time.. water temp, 86, air temp 88.. sea ya Wray... |

Finally got around to getting a pic of my favorite coins, and figuring out (I think) how to use Photobucket. Here goes...
Well, I thought I was right. I can't get the !@#$%^&*() site to save my cropped picture, it keeps reverting to the original. Oh well... Anyone recognize the bottom center one? This message has been edited. Last edited by: JerryG, Carpe Debier: Seize a Lager! |

Jerry,
If it is of any help, on their upload page, just below select files to .. where it has the choices for size, I use the large 640 x 480 and they seem to fit OK |

Wray,
HA HA...My kids don't even listen to me now so I am sure their kids will think I am just talking to hear myself talk. I did like to hang out with my grand parents but you are right about kids these days. Hope the pool felt good!! Wayne |

I sure would like to get a few more. The only ones I have is from a Sector Commander, CG-9 Rescue 21 coin, and a CIA coin I received on a flight last summer. The guy told me he worked for the culinary institute of america. I told him I never have heard if it before and he said Im sure you have so at the last 3 minutes when the plane touched down he said I appreciate your work in the coast guard and handed me a CIA coin. Then he disappeared at the gate.
