I retired after 26 years and had about ten military coins, so I bought a display rack for my new desk at work to show them off... Then I really started getting coined. Every U.S. Marshal has a coin and, while I have not yet met them all, we have 95 U.S. Marshals. Each headquarters Associate and Assistant Director has a coin, other federal LE agencies have coins and lots of local police chiefs and sheriffs have coins.
Well, I know I should be saying my Chief's coin is my most prized, but...
When I left my last afloat unit ('210) as the IDHS, the CO gave me a unit coin and then the XO (prior BMC/CWO) gave me a Surfman coin. I believe his Surfman number is down in the low 100's. That is a pretty special coin to me...
..that reminds me that my most prized non military one, and overall towards the top of the list is the Capital Police Chiefs coin. Hooked him up on a tour of our CC here.
Cool, 93, do you work at the Coast Guard CC? There's a funny story about that place.
The first DAC breafing I gave before the Commandant walked in, Garcia had the most junior member sit in the Commandant's chair. And, being there are no electronics authorized, he coined PO Nash. So, he has that coin to remind all the YN haters that he got to sit in the king's chair.
Ran the place for three and a half years, grab garcia at 0715 every day still to get coffee. That is one of Garcia's favorite gags, letting someone get caught in the 'Commandants' chair. Of course, since Garcia used to be Ens Thad Allen's YN3, there is a little bit of colluding sometimes!
I have my Midgett coin the crew got after returning from a SOUTHPAT with 15 tons of cocain. I had one from my AF days but lost it long ago. It makes me sick to this day.
What Air force coin did you loose, perhaps I can help as Lackland, Brooks, Randolph, are all here. With AETC here pperhaps someone from the old unit is still around.
As for the Guardian, it was a good movie for what it was, and there are many leadership lessons one can teach from it. The deleted scenes where Randel and Skinner have it out is one, where Randol tells the Female she isn't going to pass yet redirects her into a path where in time she will pass, "We work as a team, that's the only way we work" and such are all very positive slices into the world that is our Coast guard.
The command center is quite a place, love the acoustics in that room I'd love to cut a CD playing guitar in there. Coast Guard unplugged...

I didn't care for the movie but have a relative that is a screenwriter and he got me the coin.
Much of what I saw in the movie was more about what NOT to do as a leader.
On the other hand, Costner was divorced, so there was some things in the movie that mirror CG life. And the CG WAS known to get into bar brawls when I was in.....
But that's when we were "Coasties", not "Guardians"...
I carry 2 for initiations, the one my wife got during hers (the one with our name spelled wrong, she has hers) and the one I got for mine. Kinda sappy but just my way of having her with me in spirit. We have a bunch of coins but a cherished one is the Southwest Asia CPOA's War On Terrorism Expeditionary Force coin I got at the Mess in Bahrain. CWO A
My old squadron cc from my Cap days has a son stationed there, so I'll see if he can poke around for you. Perhaps we can get your Air Force coin replaced.
The Guardian wasn't perfect, but it is what it is, and I can find the positive in it. A cool coin to have no less.
