ALCOAST 584/09 announced Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the first week covers protecting your personal information online.

Since a topic, quite ironically actually, was locked because of a spirited off-topic discussion surrounding the decision of some posters not to post identifying information, what are your thoughts on the topic of protecting information? To what extent do you go to protect your information, and when do you think protection crosses the line to paranoia?

If you haven't read the ALCOAST it is available on the USCG homepage under the announcements section. I would highly recommend looking at the website referenced, it has some good information for all computer users.

Does this mean that we will all get yet another e-mail from the SecDHS? Oh, good... I always eagerly await those and read them with great care! Roll Eyes
