I received an OTH with a RE-4 reenlistment code from the USMCR in 11DEC2000. I enlisted in 1998 while in College at VMI, at the end of my Sophomore year (1999), I left VMI, because I could not afford the tuition. I had to relocated back to California because I was broke and homeless. My reserve unit instructed me to call them when I got to California so I could transfer to another unit. During the three month time frame of moving to California, I was unable to have my prior unit transfer me into a CA reserve unit. As the months went by and I was still in dire financial straits, I let the reserve transfer fall to the side. I just recently found out that I was seperated with an OTH and re-enlistement code of RE-4. I was young and dumb during the transition to California and I am wondering if any CANG recruiter knows the possibility of me getting a waiver to serve with the Guard in California. I am much more responsible person and I can get character statements and work history to show that I have matured since 1999.
