On liberty go to Russian River. Go to Old Chicago Pizza in town of Petaluma. Take a winery tour, even if you don't like wine. Walk across the Golden Gate Bridge.
He should wander through the FAR, at least be familiar with the table of contents and index, and read the CGAP and SAM. Maybe even the HSAM and HSAR, although they really don't say very much.
Also whatever replaced (hopefully) the inventory management software, I think it was CM+ but it's been five years, he will almost certainly be using that when he gets out of school. You should have this there at your unit, the system you used to keep track of repair and spare parts.
