We are going to try GSA Global Supply. I hope this works as well as the old GSA CSC catalogs. We haven't decided whether to order online or by phone, I'll probably leave that up to the orderer. We have had problems with GSA Advantage so I hope Global works better.
I'd like to hear from current GSA Global users. I'd like to hear your procedures, and the good and bad of the system. We will most likely use it for orders in the $10,000-$20,000 range so our agency procedure requires a delivery order be prepared, mostly as documentation for the credit card bill. That doesn't seem right to me so if anyone has another way I'd like to know that too.
You can either reply here, or to my work email at raymond.lucas@dhs.gov
All responses, positive and negative, will be greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately credit card is the only option, but we can charge up to $25,000 per charge. We just have to figure out what paperwork to use for the credit card statement.
Otherwise, what are your impressions of GSA Global? What do you think of their customer service, shipping time, selection, etc?
If we couldn't find something at GSA Advantage, we'd just get three bids from other sources and go with the cheapest bid.
We put in for a local (statewide) LE computer system, and were directed (by the State) to a distributor near the Capitol. Their price: $4500 for the Panasonic Toughbook laptop computer recommended for the system.
Our techies at HQ got us the same laptop (through GSA) for $3500.

So you don't even need 3 quotes? Sounds like a CMplus order, and I'm sure you don't have MILSTRIPS blowing in the wind like you do with CMplus
GSA Global Supply why would you need 3 quotes? the stuff is stock system (read MILSTRIP) stuff and from a Mandatory source, from the FAR

LetsGoRedSox; if you remember ordering from GSA CSC? We used to fax the order form, because they had those items in stock. This is the same, because GSA maintain those items in stock, there are no vendors involved. The purchase card is a method of payment for a government stock items. There is no quotes required nor mandated.
Roger that sir. I guess I am confusing the global supply with advantage, where you have thousands of vendors and not just stock system items. By the way, that is a beautiful ship in your profile. I was on the Gallatin from 2000-2003.
