My class about four years ago had 18. I think it can vary a handful in either direction. You could always go to the TRACEN Petaluma website and go to SK school link. I think they have class pictures and you could count the people.
Our class did picks similar (not the exact same) to how detailers assign billets. That means they factored in time in the CG, Sea time, and award points. I think that it may be what ever the instructors likes but if anyone knows for sure - please chime in.

If I can remember correctly we had 18 in my class. We used the same priority the detailer uses, so yes those coming from cutters got first pick, the one coming from boot got what was left.
None of that really matters though. Focus on what you need to do to get into A school, pass your E-4 epme and keep your nose clean. Once at school keep focused on why you are there and get back out as an SK3!
Good Luck!

What? They have SKAS convening every month now? Sorry...on leave...not caught up.
We had 20 in our class back in '05.
Your seatime (there is a difference b/w OCONUS and CONUS sea time) will determine how high you are on the list to pick your billet. If you have no seatime, then they will go by when you made E-3. ......
i.e. 1. SN Schmuckatelly, CGC SEQUOIA (Guam), 9 months seatime 2. FN Joe Camel, CGC HAMILTON, 1 year seatime. 3. SN Landlubber, SEC San Diego, E-3 01FEB09 4. FN WrenchTurner, ISC SAN PEDRO, E-3 01MAR09
Easy as that....

you may also have the option of working it out amongst yourselves too. the only catch is that everyone has to agree upon it. If one person does not agree, then the detailer gets to choose. My class came to a unanimous decision and got orders to where we agreed upon. It may have changed since I was there nine years ago though.

Classes vary depending a few factors classes range from 10-22. Sometimes there will be two classes at the sametime, but not very often. They usually put about 120-150 students through a year.
