I'm going to meet up with him in Mayport, Fl.. Can anyone who as done that tell what it was like, what to expect? What airport do I fly into? Where should I stay? Where can I get the best value and prices? What should I bring? What should I bring him? Should I rent a car? Is it near the beach? Is there anything to do while I wait until he gets off work? I posted messages on the two "units" I joined and have not received feedback. Please respond.

The Navy Lodge at Mayport is really nice, we stayed there ourselves last summer. It is very reasonable and close to everything. If you can't get a room there, then don't book anything on Mayport Rd, those hotels aren't the greatest and aren't in the best part of town.

You can use the Galley across the street as well and it isn't that bad and cheap. The coffee place at the gas station when you come is really good.
