I have visited two Exchanges in recent years - Wright Pat and Bethesda Medical Center. In both cases we have not made any purchases (OK, a Navy Tee Shirt). There is no sales tax, but often there are better deals at outlet malls, or department or discount stores with sales. If you are looking for a major purchase, compare prices before you go. Liquor may be the one exception, but since I did not price shop, I can not attest to that still being the fact.
