Lord there is nothing that will happen today that you and I cannot handle together...
I am weeping , like a fool all over my keyboard because I feel angry and betrayed....Mostly right now I am grieving. I got set off by the (*&^&%)_^% thread on Michael Fox and Limbaugh and for the first time in a long time I lost it...Sorry bout that.. I talk to my Son just before he was getting ready for bed and his breathing was really labored and he was not feeling well...we still await the word of the transplant...It is his last recourse...and the odds are against him but we still do not lose hope.... So the Fox and Limbaugh thread hit rather close to home...I guess one will never understand unless the walk in another one's shoes...I should as a christian be more tolerant but I was ready to kick some A** tonight and for that I am sorry..... Bye....God Bless and keep you all...God Bless our Troops and our Country and thanks to those of you that have been my friends but I cannot continue now at least here for awhile... oh and yes I DID take my pills... Today ... no rant
Just me sitting here feeling sorry for myself. As I sit here in my cozy office, sipping my hot cocoa, listening to the stereo... Life is good ... with the exception, the HUGE exception of not knowing if my son is ok. How is a parent supposed to stay in the festive holiday mood with the knowledge that my eldest son (still my little man) is somewhere in the belly of a hostile country? If he is still working the same shift, he will be off duty now. Will he too be drinking a cup of cocoa? Should I just put on the Christmas carols, put up the beautiful lights, and enjoy for him? This is a bummer. Please God, Santa, The Good fairy ... oh Hell ... anyone who has the power, Keep my son and his fellow Soldiers safe... (I've been good this year ... most of the time) I can no longer see thru the tears. Today I don't rant, I plead. Let them feel our love back in the States. Forever, Mom J. |

Mom J.
My heart goes out to you. I know it's not easy being one of those left behind, and not knowing. But i'm coming from the point of view of someone who had been in the same position as your son: Play the Christmas carols, enjoy the hot cocoa, and get into that festive christmas mood. I'm sure you have faith in your son, but also have faith in those that look over and lead your son, and believe that they will bring him home safe to you. We understand that families get worried when there is no word for quite some time. But we don't want life at home to fall apart in our absence. Especially this holiday season, i'm sure when he finally calls/emails/writes he will want to know about the smell of christmas dinner in the house, how the christmas decor looks, and maybe even pry as to what you got him for christmas! Your son will want that little taste of home during the holidays and to know that everyone is ok, and to make sure the candle is lit in the window to light his way home. Have faith, take heart, and follow the traditions within your family. And i'm sure that your son will get contact with you once he is able to. Best wishes to you! |

I know, I know. But this isn't SPECIFIC enough for me! Anyone can rant. But to be able to drop a nuclear F bomb on someone without pointing out who they are, calling them out or generally shredding the TOS in anger is very appealing.
I'll drop it though. Moral courage is the most valuable and usually the most absent characteristic in men. |

One thing I can say about this forum is there are people here who can sure make you think.
For example there's this one poster (no names of course) that has had me wondering if it's possible to shoot a human being out of a submarines torpedo tubes. I'd like to wrap my fingers around his throat and squeeze til the pus runs out of his ears. This defeatist moron is supposed to be a field grade officer but I seriously doubt he could command a pack of cub scouts. What I'd really like to do is send him back to boot camp and give ETC about 2 months to adjust his attitude. Ok...I'll have to give this a few minutes to see if it makes me feel any better. |

This shouldn't have made me laugh, but it sure did. Out loud. Of course, I have NO IDEA who you're talking about....but it sure is funny! Moral courage is the most valuable and usually the most absent characteristic in men. |

LOL, that would be fun to watch! I assume (gosh I hate that word) that you are talking about SHOOTING and not RELEASING people to swim freely out of a torpedo tube. The reason is that SEALS have been swimming out of torpedo tubes for a while now, as a means of delivery to the water from the interior of a sub. I also saw that the German sub fleet is performing that function with their special forces troops in their newest class of Fuel Cell subs on the Military Channel program "Futureweapons". It's hosted by a former SEAL, who gets all the good jobs it seems. |

Is this why I have 'Warning Bad Language' under my screen name? I didn't say those words, someone else did (2 years ago) and I just quoted their reply. |

Oh please do go ahead and correct me if I am wrong, but I was under the impression that Navy Seals get shot out of torpedo tubes. At least, the tube is opened up so they can swim out? |

Since this is " THE RANT" thread,I would like to say that the entire site was much better 2 years or more ago!
Several people that used to post when I first came on have left. Many of them I respected and look toward for guidance, because my son had joined the Marines. Many are gone from this site but I still post and lurk at leisure. |
