My tenure here as the Hot Topics Lead Moderator has been interesting, to say the least. I did what I saw as being best for the overall health of the forums, and tried to be unbiased and impartial when it came to partisan politics and differences between the Far Right and the Far Left.

The opinions of my stewardship will differ, of course, depending upon whom you ask. Some have told me that I have done a good job….. others have expressed the opinion that I was the worst thing to ever happen to the Hot Topics Forums.

I am satisfied that I did what I could, in good faith, to try to make these forums a better place.

Having said that…. I have decided that my time as Lead Moderator has wound down. I do not have the patience that I once had, and I find that I am much more likely to have kneejerk reactions to provocations…. And that is not a good trait in a Lead Moderator. For this reason, I am stepping down as Lead Moderator for the Hot Topics Arena.

I have honestly enjoyed MOST of my time as Lead, and must say that, overall, I enjoyed a LOT of support from the members. I Thank You for that support. I will remain a Moderator, but will have limited interaction for a time, as there are things in my life which I desire to spend more time on, and a family that I intend to spend MUCH more time with in the evenings.

I am leaving the forums in very capable hands, as I turn the keys over to someone that everyone here should know…. NEMESIS1960 is now the Lead Moderator of the Hot Topics Forums.

Nemesis and the rest of the Mod team are very capable, and I have confidence that they will be fair and impartial. Please Give NEMESIS your cooperation as he attempts to keep or make the forums the best that he can.

This is my decision, and was not brought on by any recent events. It is just time.

My email address will remain by my avatar, and I encourage each of you to continue to email me if there are issues that I may help you with. I do have a fair amount of knowledge on how the forums work, and may be able to help resolve issues. Understand that it may be a day or two or three before you are answered.

If there are any urgent issues, please contact the rest of the Mod Team, or the New Lead, NEMESIS1960.

Thank you for your time and patience for those of us that came in during your tenure, by allowing us to grow as posters without seeing the need to nail us for the little stupid things. It is MY HUMBLE OPINION that you have provided an unbiased and unfettered tenure while here. Good luck with the more relaxed version of the forum.
