This is pretty amusing. A researcher, who's been working for years to discover whether or not UBL had ever visited the states has come up with a definitive answer: yes. In 1979. Indiana, of all places. Plus LA.

Maybe it's just me but what is amusing about this story? After years of research it was discovered Osama bin Laden visited the country in 1979. Wow! He visited LA, Indiana "of all places" and other locations. Maybe he was a Bobby Knight fan...

The question of whether Osama bin Laden has ever visited the United States, a subject on which I have expended an unhealthy amount of energy in the course of various journalistic and biographical research, has now seemingly been settled. Osama was here for two weeks in 1979, it seems, and he visited Indiana and Los Angeles, among other places. He had a favorable encounter with an American medical doctor; he also reportedly met in Los Angeles with his spiritual mentor of the time, the Palestinian radical Abdullah Azzam. All this is according to a forthcoming book by Osama’s first wife, Najwa Bin Laden, and his son Omar Bin Laden, to be published in the autumn by St. Martin’s Press.

I'd have to wonder how a very tall man with a wife in traditional garb would not leave more of an impression in the Heartland of Indiana. LA? I doubt he was noticed, but Indiana? They'd stick out like turds in a punchbowl.

I know I've seen a photo somewhere online that claims it was the bin laden family in the US. It was sometime in the 70's and showed(supposedly) a teenage/younger Osama.

But thanks to Glenn Becks mouth all my searches are coming up with his crap.

The Bin Laden family has been, and probably still is, all over America. They have business interests here and have for years. In fact, at the time of the 9/11 attacks, some were apparently in Florida, some in Kentucky and some were in Boston. It's a large and very diverse family which is closely connected with the House of Saud and the Carlysle Group.

As for Osama? For all we know, he could have shaved his beard, put on a western-style suit and be living in a Manhattan co-op. His family certainly has the money and nobody would notice him in NYC.

I bought some Budweiser and a pack of Marlboros off of him in a 7-11 in Visalia last week.
