This guy needs to be bucking for Gordon Brown's job in a few years...

Why not write about the demands from oranges, or your favorite chair? A person, or group of people, can make demands, an object, place, or idea cannot.

Very astute, sweetsuds, but not very deflective. I think we could all figure that the group from Saudi, this supposed human rights group, are the ones wanting to make demands about being able to practice their religion.

But this group is not Islam. They may be composed of Muslims, but they are not Islam, no more than you are an orange, regardless of how many of them you may consume.

But, and this is a big one, they are quite representative of Islam

According to whom? Are you the president of ISNA, MAS, ICNA, or the OIC? What studies have you conducted?

I digress. Anybody who believes in Islam ARE Islam.

If nobody practiced it, it wouldn't exist.

If the majority of Islam are peaceful and dispise these terrorists and their acts, they need to be taking care of their own.

They need to destroy those factions in their midst that are using a religion as a means for terror.

They need to cut them down without mercy.

Anything less is just siding with them. Those that allow this are just as guilty as those who perpertrate it.

Police your own, and there will be no need for others to do so.

That is something that contravenes traditional scholarship. Where's your proof of this?

I'm interested to see how long it takes someone to say 'it's not that simple'. Popcorn

Well, then, I'll satisfy your wish. It really isn't that simple, and not knowing what's really going on doesn't help one form a good idea of what others should be doing. Glad to please. Can I have some popcorn?

Lol, people know. They know who is doing these acts, and they know where they are.

They either don't have the moxy to do something about it, or they really think that what they are doing is right.

I really think that most who say they are "peaceful" do know where these terrorists are. I think that they also have secret approval to carry on, because that IS what your religion states.

I think that US muslims are far different than their ME brothers.

In a way, the ME people need Islam to survive. Imagine how harsh it would be to live there. How many different invaders have challenged them over the centuries.

But if they don't drop it now and embrace a modern version of it, they will end up being destroyed.

Even those that are "peaceful" because in the end the fact that they've allowed this to go on will come back and strike them down.

How many 9/11's or other smaller attacks do you really think the West will allow before something akin to total war ensues?

We are not weak. We are fair. Extreme muslims take this as a weakness.

In their huge error.

Police yourselves and all will be well.

I think it's complacency.They feel insulated somehow.
When it slaps them in the face they will be saying "Woe is me.Who will help me?"

Really? Who's they? Personally, I haven't the foggiest, or I'd be on the phone right now. The families of folk who have committed suicide bombings are often in shock, completely unaware that their loved one was involved. So, who are "they", the so well-informed?
They either don't have the moxy to do something about it, or they really think that what they are doing is right.

I really think that most who say they are "peaceful" do know where these terrorists are. I think that they also have According to what, other than your overworked imagination? secret approval to carry on, because that IS what your religion states.

In some ways, yes, but not in others.
In a way, the ME people need Islam to survive. Imagine how harsh it would be to live there. How many different invaders have challenged them over the centuries.
In a way, Americans need religion in order to survive- I'd consider the ever-increasing shallowness and alienation from reality a sign that we are in great need of something greater than ourselves.
But if they don't drop it now and embrace a modern version of it, they will end up being destroyed.

Even those that are "peaceful" because in the end the fact that they've allowed this to go on will come back and strike them down.
How is it "allowing" something when you have no idea what's going to happen, or when?
How many 9/11's or other smaller attacks do you really think the West will allow before something akin to total war ensues?
