Stewart annihilates Fox News' purported opinion-news division: "It's a perpetual revulsion machine"

++++http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/200910290044

If there was ever any doubt that FAUX News-less is a joke, Jon Stewart has remove all doubt. Big Grin

Does anyone doubt that here is where the right wing propaganda comes from?

Millions of Americans watch Fox news as their number one news channel. We should take them out and shoot them, right?

John Stewart, a "real" news show. Actually, John Stewart has more journalistic skill than any of the other democratic myrmidons at CNN, MSNBC, CBS, etc.

So which one is it Keg, do you think FOX is a legitimate news network or not?

Also, unlike the loony tunes that drool all over Beck, Hannity etc; we understand that John is an entertainer, and Daily Show is…..well, a Show!

Bullshzt

Jon *Stewert* is only an entertainer when called to the carpet. Like a stress card in the new boot camp. The left holds him up as a news source all the way up until he crosses the line...then he is *just a comedian*.

Like a useful tool you all slobber over his every remarks. But that’s OK.
You get your drivel from the comedy channel and I will get my news from various organizations including FOX

Fox is as Legitimate a News channel as MSNBC, CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC.

You all get your panties twisted because you cant stand they didnt want to hang Bush in effigy for the last 8 years.

You froth at the mouth because its got higher ratings than what you perceive Should have

It galls you that someone like an O'Reilly has higher ratings during his opinion show than your hero Olberman. Deep down inside you that hurts.

Beck? Never listened to the guy, but judging from the invective hurled his way by the nancy boys here, he must be saying something right.

Same with Limpbaugh if you dont like him, turn the channel/dial.

I laugh at those who say they dont watch Fox, but seem to know all about every minute of its broadcasts

Either your lying and secretly, furtively do watch

Or your letting some other website tell you what to think about Fox. So which is it?

Closet Fox Listeners? or Lemmings doing what your told?

You mean like Comedian Stewart saying no ones read a Newspaper since 1997?

I find it ironic that the lemmings complaining about Fox not being news have to use a Comedian, portraying a Newsman to get their point out instead of a real newsman.

As to fabrications, well Dan Rather anyone?

Jeff Koinange at CNN?

The Dan Rather story has never been proven false, only the documents were in question (also not conclusively proven false) and the station has apologized for it. Does Fox apologize for any of the lies they tell? Have they apologized for lying about Kevin Jennings on their "news" programing? It wasn't just Beck spreading the lies, but their "journalists" during their "news" hours. Koinage doesn't work for CNN anymore does he?

Thats you answer?

Rather used Falsified Documents to come to the conclusion he was fired for. To this day he says the documents were real even though they were conclusively faked.

Is it OK if I use Falsified Documents against you in court?

Say I make a document that states you beat your children and send it to family services for child abuse.

If you've ever spanked your child does it make the story true?

No the base of all this, is the leftlemmings cant stand that Fox doesnt follow the party line when it comes to BDS. It still drives them crazy now. You all claim never to watch, yet know every utterance made.

Your either Liars, or Lemmings?

Which is it?

You wont get any argument from me. The major news channels are all BS now anyway. The only regular news program I watch with any frequency is Brian Williams on NBC.

Conclusively is a pretty strong word in light of what the CBS panel actually concluded.

The panel has not been able to conclude with absolute certainty whether the Killian documents are authentic or forgeries.

And, once again, CBS apologized for it. Has Beck? Has Fox? Did O'Reilly lose his job when he was sexually harassing a subordinate? (Just an "FYI", these are rhetorical questions. We already KNOW the answer)

Where have I claimed I "never watch" Fox? Had to watch it all the time when I was in the service. I have to watch it every time I travel since most hotels only carry Fox (as well as most basic cable programming)

Nobody wants to see Fox "go away" or be silenced. Seriously, they provide endless entertainment for me on a daily basis since the left wing whacko radio program I listen to dedicates an entire hour to the moronic things said on Fox.

Fox is pure political porn and I LIKE porn...in moderation and I don't expect it to win an Academy Award.

Oh Bullsh t, theres nothing better the left would like than to shut Fox down. Problem is there are too many witnesses to Vince Foster it.

The left is berserk over Fox being top rated over what the left says Americans SHOULD watch. They cant beat it honestly, so they try these sillyassed hail mary's in the hope it will change the publics TV watching habits to DNC Approved TV like Olberman, Maddow the cow, and Network news.

In the end, the WH diminished itself by declaring this war on Fox to appease its fringe left. Just like Nixon did.

Raise the white flag like the french, you lost the war on Fox.

Though Fox has some pretty crazy OPINION blocks that enrage the WH and their left wing fringe, their NEWS is well balanced compared to MSNBC.

I find it interesting that the WH and left wing fringe are not critizing MSNBC for it's slant on things. Probably because it doesn't get the ratings Fox does.

As far as Fox's news wing, it's just a balance to the spin the other MSM puts out. Hence "Fair and Balanced."

And yes, the WH and it's left wing fringe lost the war against Fox. It was a risk President Obama was willing to take to satisfy his left wing fringe, but the risk went bad.

ALL these new networks are in it to make a profit and have been becoming more soundbite and scandal oriented as a result. That said the difference between the networks is simple MSNBC, CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC have an official policy of TRYING (and like any human endevor often failing) to be unbiased while Fox has an official policy of presenting the news from the conservative viewpoint. In other words the Fox official policy is to SLANT the news towards a viewpoint, to present news with a conservative BIAS.

Plus Top CABLE news does NOT mean top news

quote:
NBC's "Nightly News" topped the evening newscasts with an average of 8.3 million viewers (5.5, 10).
ABC's "World News" was second with 7.7 million (5.2, 10)
"CBS Evening News" had 6 million viewers (4.1, 8).

Fox News averaged 2.25 million total viewers in prime time for the third quarter,

Note NBC's "Nightly News" 8.3 million vs Fox News 2.25 million

IMO the main problem with Fox news is the way they introduce a story. Pay attention to the way the stories are introduced and notice how it is often designed to slant the facts that will be presented in the news story.

Your statement says "slant the facts" is exactly the problem with US media today. Try the CBC (Canadian News)...it will be an eye opener when you get the facts without the "slant"...

Maybe this quote from the Pew Research Center:

Comedy Central's Daily Show, viewed regularly by only 3% of Americans overall, is a staple for 14% of liberals who like news that reflects their point of view
