It has been argued for some time now both in support of the current mission in Iraq, and against it. We now can see where the Democratic Presidential frontrunners stand on the issue of retreat/redeployment/withdrawel.
http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/popup/?rn=49750&...63&ch=68276&src=news It looks like the main frontrunners appear optimistic about keeping troops in Iraq for a long time to come, so why not vote funding now for the Troops, since the majority of them feel they do not know all the facts, and they feel a long presence will be needed there? |

I like seeing Scottie's posts. (I had a dog named Scotty once)
It is a constant reminder how ignorant/dangerous/weak Dems/libs are and how they must be opposed at all costs. "HOW DARE YOU COME INTO MY HOUSE, YOU SON OF A B----!" Susan Buxton, 66, heard over her granddaughter's 911 call. Arlington, TX 9 Nov. 2005. Aired 10 Nov. 2005, WBAP 820, Mark Davis show. She ended up shooting him in the leg when he tried to take her gun. Good shtuff! |

scotty thinks the libs in office will do just as he wants and as they say.
BWAHAHAHAaa,, scotty get your head out before you suffocate. You are going to be so disappointed of the dems. You might as well take their posters down off your wall, it's time to wake up scotty. |

Morris, I bet you corrode steel when you hold it... Lighten up dude. your rant about democrats is beginning to sound absolutely parinoid. Is it time to get you a tin foil hat and call the guys in white coats? I bet you grind your teath at night too. Try a nice vacation with some fresh air. It'll work wonders for your disposition... |

Well, they all talk about getting out. Some stronger than others. We'll have to wait and see who is the democratic annointed to get a feel for how they will structure the pullout. (And there WILL be a pullout, one way or another) |

First thing here is you missed my question completely, feel free to answer it! Second thing here is all but two said they COULD NOT GUARUNTEE our presence in Iraq would be completely gone by the end of their first term if elected. So, again I will ask you, if they know and admitt the troops will probably be in Iraq for quite some time to come (maybe even past their first term), why not fund them today, and worry about troop levels and pull out times when appropriate? |

I believe the answer to your question should be quite obvious. The two parties must have some form of politics on which they differ and can bash each other over the head to win political power. If it can't be Iraq its got to be hate crimes or something else. When one tract becomes politically unviable a new one must be created. Its all about bashing your opposition and attempting to gain the political high ground. Of course none of these poloticians are genious so they stumble from one issue to the next dragging their feet the entire time ensuring that they NEVER fully agree with anyone from the other party. But ultimately it is about trying to make the other party look like its failing to deliver to the people even though in fact it is them that are actually causing the issues. Can you say SPIN????? |

I agree, but is this fair to those who serve our Country in harms way? Since it is obvious that even the Dems are devided on the issue of Iraq (as shown), what harm would come from them voting for the funding to support the Troops today, while at the same time stating their opinion publicly as to what their intentions/feelings are? People should be smart enough to know where they stand by the comments as well as their voting record, so denying the Troops funding or trying to slip in pork or agenda bills into funding bills seems cheap and wrong to me! |

I think it is called POLITICS. If they are not sure how a vote will go and what effect it will have on their canadacy. Then don't vote. It's an issue they don't have to deal with now...besides there is TREMENDOUS pressure on them to make good their platform promise and GET US OUT NOW. I don't expect to see ANYTHING from them until after election time when they are in a more secure position... |
