Yeah, they're that good.

And therefore, the beatles are NOT one hit wonders. Big Grin

I may be wrong here, but how about:

Jann Arden - Insensitive
Joan Osborne - One of Us
Billy Falcon - Power of Love
Jeff Healy Band - Angel Eyes
Martika - Toy Soldier

All from the 80's and 90's.

English Beat - Mirror in the Bathroom

Romeo Void - Never Say Never

English Beat had more than that as a hit. Singer Dave Wakeling (General Public) did many local shows after the albums. As for Romeo Void, I know they have a few albums but not if any other song made the hit list.
Xmradio online has some exclusive online only channels, including AOL's one hit wonders. I wish they had that available for in the car.

Romeo Void had a 2nd hit, "A Girl in Trouble (is a temporary thing)".
Mickey - Toni Basil
Too Shy - Kajagoogoo
Two of Hearts - Stacey Q

She was soooo hot back then

Here she is voted "belly button of the month"

I saw her a couple years ago and she's still quite fine.......... She had Bonnie Raitt's old baseman Freebo doing stand up, electric and TUBA as accompaniment, along with the stellar Ernie Hawkins

To the best of my knowledge, this is the only song to crack the top 40 by this band:

Mountain - "Mississippi Queen"

Greenbaum is notable for the rare achievement of having recorded two one-hit wonders. In 1968, under the name Dr. West's Medicine Show and Junk Band, he recorded the novelty hit "The Eggplant that Ate Chicago"... Greenbaum lives in Petaluma, California. He no longer performs in public, but continues to promote concerts and lives off the royalties from his songs

Now I don't know what ol Norm did, wether he got some bad mushrooms or some of the brown acid at Woodstock but he fell off the face of the earth after this hit.

Rumor has it he is a pig farmer in Ohio Eek

He oughta hook up with Yusef Islam aka Cat Stevens. He is another one of which the counterculture life was not kind to.

They could debate the pros and cons of pork as well as music careers that vanished into thin air.

Seeing "Teen Angel" reminds me of another teeny-bopper song by the Shangri-Las... "Leader of the Pack"

In the USA I think they were considered to be one hit wonders even though they had a couple of albums out.

If a tree falls in a forest and lands on a politician, even if you can't hear the tree or the screams, I'll bet you'd at least hear the applause.

Actually, though not as big a hit was "Alive And Kicking.

Also, I've noticed alot of posts of allegedly one hit wonders...
Sorry, but without mentioning names, you're not as big a music afficianado as you believe. Razz

My pick would have to be 1910 Fruitgum Company;
1-2-3 Red Light.
Another one, though I can't think of the group, is Red Rubber Ball.

cyrkle

and I DID NOT look that up (honest)

Believe it was one of Paul Simon’s first commercial hits. Also guy from the Seekers also helped write it.

Ty. I tried listening to Alan Jackson's cover of Mercury Blues once but opted for just ramming a pair of scissors through my ears (less painful, ya know). Big Grin Big Grin

Interesting input...
The '60s group "The Monkees" had more than their fair share of hits...some lyrics written by Neil Diamond...
But...Michael Neismith had a solo 'one hit wonder'..."Her Name was Joanne"...
And, Davey Jones' recording of: "Daydream Believer"...

Then, from the television series: "Have Gun Will Travel"..."The Ballad of Paladin" 1961...recorded by Johnny Western. He, Richard Boone (7th Generation descendant of Daniel Boone), and S. Robey wrote the lyrics.

Michael Nesmith wrote "Different Drum" for the Stone Poneys, another one-hit-wonder. (They were fronted by that girl with those big dark eyes)
