New Conservatives:

Want to stop the madness that has our country by the balls..
Find new conservatives that are running for national office in this up coming 2010 election.

Then support them with contributions.

Here is one: David Hedrick

I think all you "new conservatives" really need to start the "National Conservative Party". Break free of the two party system! Come on, you can do it!

Good luck. If the NY 23 is any indication, make Palin and Fred Thompson your national spokesmen.

New Jersey and Virginia. Harbinger of things to come. I will take one of fifty over one of 435 any day, but keep leaning left. It worked out well for us so far since Jan. 20th this year.

A very small district that has a population larger than three states, Wyoming, Vermont, and North Dakota.

Because the right wing of the right winged party supported a non party member, and they failed to elect a republican or a con for that matter.

You also state that it is a "small district", fact is all districts in the house have the same number of registered voters. You also stated that New York is a democratic state and that is true, but the 23rd has been solidly republican for some time now.

Exactly what conservatives expect and hope for from the Party of Mao dumbed-down democrats - a dismissive and arrogant attitude towards conservatism. Look under your bed, Bonesaw, the boogie man's there...

What exactly defines the "new" conservatives? Are they forming a new political party or are they just hijacking the GOP (again). Tim Pawlenty must not have gotten the memo. He sounded pretty confused the other morning with Joe Scarborough:

"Gov. TIM PAWLENTY (R-Minn.) on the Nov. 3 "Morning Joe": If Olympia Snowe disagrees with us on one or two things, there room for her? Of course. There is a range of behavior and issue positions we can accept and celebrate in the party, and there's room for all of that. But you can't be so far out of that range that you become Dede Scozzafava.

MITCHELL: So he's applying a litmus test. You kept going after him and after him and he is sticking to a litmus test as to who can be a Republican, ignoring what part of the country they're from. That doesn't make any sense.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: Yeah, I mean, let's get this straight. We got the guy from Mississippi saying we'll take moderates in Maine. We got the guy from Minnesota saying "No, I've got a litmus test you have to follow or else you're not a member of my party." I think in this case, let's hand it to the open-mindedness of our Mississippi native, Haley Barbour, because he's exactly right. He understood what Ronald Reagan understood.

SCARBOROUGH: And that is, remember Reagan in '76? He asks Schweiker, one of the most liberal Republicans in the Senate, from Pennsylvania, to be his running mate in '76. He said, "If I win, I'm going to have Schweiker with me." That's something, with all due respect to Tim Pawlenty, didn't sound like he got this morning."

Some time now? Try over 100 years. A Republican has held the seat in NY for over 100 years.

NJ and VA have a history of voting in a governor in opposition to the President. They've been doing that for 30 years. No shockers and certainly not the "huge victory" Conservatives would like to think it is, especially since Dems also picked up two House seats. Dems 8, GOP 2.

The wins in New Jersey and Virginia help them to overlook their major loss in New York. Even Newt understood it would be unwise to support an independent, and he was proven correct.

I don't need the DNC to help me see something that easy to spot. All it took was Palin and Thompson to show up and I could see where it was heading. A great train wreck!

The Dems/Libs still haven't figured out that Newt Gingrich and the RNC are at the bottom of our Christmas card list. If the parties get much closer in ideas, we can consolidate them into one "Big Tent" and call ourselves Republicrats. When the libs start using our supposedly conservatives for a positive in these elections, it is pretty telling where they stand.

I concur. I also believe that he is a hypocrit, How much money did HE make as the pastor of his church and in the name of god? I'm willing to bet it was way more than the average Preacher.
AND, How many years was HE a slave? Slavery was abolished over 144 years ago.

@Bonesaw
Is that the best that you can do. That picture has nothing to do with aanything even remotely associated with this thread. Yet you post it for two reason, one because if you can label a group of people racist, you don't have to discuss the issues, and second you probably don't have anything better. Frankly that card is starting to get a little old. It seems when all else fails, throw out the hick, hill billy race card.

@Senclaghorn
NY 23 was far from a train wreck. It is called taking a stance in the face of defeat and putting principle over victory. Rome wasn't built in a day. Sometimes a defeat can turn out to be your biggest victory. I think the purpose of that election was to send a message more so than to win that seat.

Now it is obvious to even the most casual observer that the majority of the voters in this country have conservative leanings. Most people who identify as democrats have semi conservative leanings. In other words they don't belive in skyrocketing taxes and spending. Yet they toe the party line becausee of false loyalty to unions and other organizations who don't give two ****s about their members.

Now I will say that both parties have been hijacked by a small portion of each who do not represent the interest of the majority of their members. NY 23 was the conservatives beginning in taking back our country. When will the democrats start theirs?????
