I've heard so many arguments on this site and others between Rep/Dems, conservative/liberal that constantly harp at nauseum their points and counter points about what is best, who is right, who is wrong.
You know what? that's exactly what the true culprits of all this mess want. Each of us at each other's throats makes a grand diversion from what is really happening in not only our country, but around the world. Military minds know that if you want to take over something You don't just go busting in like gangbusters if you are out manned and out gunned. You devise a diversion to distract and draw them away from the real target point. How easily we fall for this as a people. Left, right, it doesn't matter. Every president that makes it into office has the same agenda. Why do you think they ALL end up doing exactly what we don't want (unless you subscribe to their globalist views.) They all have grand designs that are very controversial that keep the American public occupied quarreling and name calling, all the while flying under the radar to legislate things that slowly herd the unwary mass to the cliff's edge of a OWG or NWO. They feed us a few crumbs now and then to make us think 'progress' has been made. And, in fact, it has.. THEIRS! Call me a nut job. I don't care. I'm going to go to "Conspiracy Theories" and post the specifics there being as there really is no point or counter-point to them. Just think about it and let's stop fighting amongst ourselves and start fighting for America as the Oath requires. |

Lucky for me, I support President Obama and don't have any issues with his agenda. He's been in office 9 months, fixing an economy and trying to prosecute two wars is a pretty steep mountain to climb. I won't consider healthcare fixed unless the American public has an affordable alternative to the insurance companies. They charge high premiums, high co pays and deny procedures to maximize profit. Not sure how that is good for Americans in general. |

This [healthcare] is exactly what I'm talking about with diversionary tactics. All you see or hear on the news about is Health Care. Notice that Obama even stated that he (personally) doesn't have a 'plan.' But while all of this is dominating the airwaves other things are going on that we miss due to our obsession with fighting with each other over this and a few other items that languish in the background. It's very well organized. |

Oh, I think you're right. While the left-right argue over "cultural" issues (gay marriage, abortion, religion in schools, legalizing pot, ACORN, gun rights etc), the politicians wink and nod and never really do anything for their respective sides. They make a few remarks about how outraged they are to make you think they understand. Maybe they throw a few legislative crumbs. All the argument and hysteria over these issues are nothing more than a distraction.
Meantime the BIG MONEY lobbyists and corporations get them to pay attention to THEIR issues. In the past few years we've had the: $700 Billion Big Bank Bailout $173 Billion AIG Bailout $289 Billion BigAgriculture Bailout (also known as the Farm Bill) $80 Billion BigPharma Bailout (also known as Medicare Part D) $680 Billion (so far) Military-Industrial-Complex Bailout (also known as the Iraq War) A lot of people think that money is going to expand the government. This is both correct and incorrect depending on your POV. More government programs are needed to implement these programs, but in reality most of it is going (directly or indirectly) to Wall Street and the big multi-national corporations. Call it the "Corporate Welfare Program". Wall Street gets bailed out of their mistakes, most of the money for the military goes to big Pentagon Contractors (remember Eisenhower's warning about the Military-Industrial-Complex?) like Halliburton, Martin-Marietta, Boeing etc. Most of the money for the Farm Bill goes to Monsanto, ADM, ConAgra etc. Most of the money for Medicare Part D goes into the pockets of the Big Pharmaceutical companies. The Healthcare Industry is in battle now to keep their big profits, and they seem to be winning. The little people? It's supposed to "trickle" down to us eventually. |

I think it's pretty well acknowledged that fixing the healthcare costs directly relates to maximizing the overall economic growth. Bill Clinton had a plan and presented it to Congress only to have it shot down. President Obama tried a different approach. Lay out broad goals and let Congress write the bill. Seems that approach is running into difficulty as well. For what it's worth, I don't think bi-partisan support is required. He was elected to enact reform and that is what he should do, with or without the approval of Republicans. Sadly, it's the conservative Democrats that are causing him the heartache now. |

There will always be those who seek power and abuse it. Now why is this? Human beings are subject to all sorts of temptations. I would say that it is high time we refresh, and renew what this Ideology is and was meant to be. If one would just take the time to find out what this country was founded for. The goal was to extract ourselves from oppression! I am neither Democrat, Republican or otherwise! When you build a house you need a foundation and as Americans it is high time IMHO to revisit and remake the foundation: Here you will find what the founders have said in various categories. Areas I have posted here at the forum for 8 days now. Why not take some time and find out: "http://site.heritage.org/research/features/almanac/cf/quotations.cfm" |

While I do throw unsavory words around with regard to certain political parties, agendas or what have you, I do not look at our country as a left vs. right paradigm. I mostly look at it as an Us vs. Them dynamic in which we are the "Us" and the government is the "Them". It is my belief that the government, no matter who is in the majority, will always seek more power and more control over its people. This isn't a paranoid delusion, it is a fact of history. All through the ages of government, it has always sought more power and more control. Just name any nation and its government, and this dynamic is easily found.
So, if you see me criticizing any actions by those on the left or the right, this is the mindset in which I do so. There are two quotes from drastically different people in American history that are the backbone to many of my beliefs in regard to what I have said above. They are: "If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be." Thomas Jefferson "Gradualism in theory is perpetuity in practice" William Lloyd Garrison I believe these to be some of the truest words ever spoken when talking about the government, its actions and the plight of the people. |

So we have three choices as a people in this nation: Evolve to Anarchy (tribal), some other oppressive system, or return to our roots and continue with the best system from opression. With the caveat that there is no perfect system due to man's greed. We can only do our best, be our best with a humane and just nation as our Founders created. |

So here is the warning from so long ago...as we slept in our beds to tired to watch for TODAY! Adams, John An Essay on Man's Lust for Power August 29, 1763 Topic: Democracy [D]emocracy will soon degenerate into an anarchy, such an anarchy that every man will do what is right in his own eyes and no man's life or property or reputation or liberty will be secure, and every one of these will soon mould itself into a system of subordination of all the moral virtues and intellectual abilities, all the powers of wealth, beauty, wit and science, to the wanton pleasures, the capricious will, and the execrable cruelty of one or a very few. |
