That is not what is being said still. It is because of Myanmar's hostility toward the U.S. The so called govt. (bullies) have stated they will not accpet anything from us.

Since this country has sustained tremendous damage from 66 tornados in ONE weekend, don't you think we ought to be dealing with the homefront FIRST?

Correct - we (the affluent countries) should do the right thing regardless of what political standpoints (actual or perceived)are factors.

I might be wrong, however I get the impression from the media that the reluctance of the Burmese government to accept aid in the normal fashion is a general problem involving all potential donor nations - and not specifically against the USA per se.

Many of the sources of American aid will be apolitical bodies within international organisations such as the Red Cross and Rotary Club etc.
