Does it really surprise you that they would find joy in an economic loss for our country as long as it made the President look bad?

After all, they're taking their examples from Rush and Beck.

I remember when Americans cheered when America won, not when we lose. Sad.

Actually, they are taking their examples from the left when President Bush was in office.

Ah, on a different board than this one. I would imagine that many of the boards have similar discussions going on. I had heard about the folks at the Weekly Standard cheering America's defeat, but just recently heard about there being video of the Americans for Prosperity event. Having their anti-American views videotaped...Sad.

If that is true, you should be able to find evidence of "the left" cheering the defeat of America. By all means, please provide it.

Newsflash....There are idiots that come from ALL walks of life. Eek

That said, I really have no problem with folks cheering Chicago's loss when it comes to getting the Olympics...Reason why is, some from other cities feel we should have had it in our city not CHICAGO, yuck, then of course some are laughing that our supposedly smart and great leader in Obama who is supposedly loved abroad did himself no favors trying to use his obvious huge EGO to get the Olympics in HIS hometown, then of course some from around the U.S. that are struggling with bills have no desire to help foot the bill through tax hikes to pay for this sports venue that many wont even be able to afford to attend that Americans can win gold in wherever it is held, and then of course there is those who actually are excited for RIO who deserves the Olympics for the first time for South America. Smile

To say these people were solely cheering for America's defeat as a Nation is ridiculous. Violin

If you get a video of Americans cheering a war defeat or something that really is a negative for America, please do post the video and we can call them losers together! Wink

These Political BS threads from both sides duplicate on many boards. Some can't seem to refrain from lame "gotcha" partisan crap.

Todays politics remind me of an old saying. - "Ideas are more powerful than guns. We would not let our enemies have guns, why should we let them have ideas?" - Joseph Stalin

Very short term memory loss on YOUR part since the economy was NOT the main issue in the election. Remember the WORST of the melt down happened (was reported) AFTER the election and BEFORE Mr. Obama took office.

Look back at Sept. '08, that's when it started to look real grim & the economy becam the issue. McC had said about the economy basicly being sound prior to that & the rest was history(not that i felt he was going to win anyway).

Ah, sweet hyperbole! Comparing the US President to a dictator who killed 3 million of his own people, not counting the Holodomor!

I was really being sarcastic, but as you know, I am no fan of obama. But as a comparision to stalin, there is none except hitler.

Actually, stalin killed around 20 million of his own through his "purges".

This is what happens when you have a discontent
population thats frustrated has lost confidence
in government and consider government the enemy.
Sad state of affairs as the world watches and wittnesses our weakened nation. Something has to give eventually.

Roll Eyes Lame.

This place is lame sometimes. You can compare the President of the United States to one of the most notorious murders of all time, and yet you can't call another poster an idiot. Go figure.

Yes, I Cheered . . .

This great nation has hosted the Olympics 12 times and South America NOT ONCE.

I cheered because it is their turn, Brazil EARNED this opportunity; for those that study our world events I do believe appreciate this selection as well . . .

So, for all those LIBs that BELIEVE IN FAIRNESS..., it is Brazil's Turn, NOT good ole USA...

I give a damn..., for every Conservative conducting a dumb-sheit act..., there is always a "Jane Fonda" sitting on an Air Defense Artillery piece in NORTH VIETNAM voicing her desire to destroy an American Aircraft, that comes to my mind... I can go on, and on, and on, and on . . .if you so desire
