"Because if they can take Glenn Beck's burst appendix to save his life, who's to say they cant your healthy appendix tomorrow and eat it in front of you and your children"

Funny, but a little too much? Who else saw it?

Too much, and too long. The first minute was funny, then I had to push the button.

Now go a-way or I shall taunt you a second time!

LMAO, as I did with the FOX NEWS examination a week or so ago.
However, I can't stand the exaggerated antics of Beck's commentary, it's too comical, so I don't know all his little twists and turns when he acts out his dramatic presentation of issues (but now I am going to have to watch him!)
I agree, Stewart’s skit was a bit too long and since I really don't care what is going on with Beck, I lost some of the satirical parody. (My wife howled with laughter as she has seen Beck on TV. It takes a good parody to get her to laugh that long and loud!) And I question the value of giving Beck much attention, but I can gather from Stewart's skit that Beck appears to act much like some of those exaggerated TV preachers dramatically acting out the seriousness of their world view.
Never the less, The Daily Show is a favorite of mine, even when I don't find it amusing. For real time humor I occasionally tune into FOX NEWS, now that's entertainment! (If anything comes of Stewart's skit, it has perked my attention to tune into Beck's “comedy” act when he recovers.)

For genuine, if unintended humor....try watching MSNBC some time!

I can't help it, but I love Olbermann's show. If you watch it with an open mind, and take everything he says with a grain of salt, it's pretty darn funny. The guy did ESPN's SportsCenter, for pete's sake. Would tou take any other sportscaster that seriously? So he pokes fun at the far right - SNL pokes fun at him and Chris Matthews. Lighten up Francis, life is too funny to get bent out of shape over this chit.

Rarely watch that either. It's the BBC, that's the news for me…. and PBS and newspapers, both real copy and on line, and journals, Time, Newsweek, etc. Popular cable TV news is for the "weak' minded. Try reading… and PBS "All Things Considered" or Public TV news programs. MSNBC, FOX, CNN, etc are too 'sensationalized' to be taken serious as informative news. It’s just entertainment. (Daily Show does provide some insightful commentary however. But then, he reads, too.)

John Stewart isn't funny and has long ago forgotten what comedy is. Colbert, on the other hand is funny!

Better watch it RT, next thing you're going to admit you enjoy Garrison Keillor and Click & Clack the Tappet Brothers, and you're going to expose yourself as a tree-huggin' radical. Wink

Thanks for the warning! Yep, like those guys, especially 'Car Talk'. Never tried 'tree-huggin' though, too many loggers/lumbermen in the family and among friends. I suppose 'tree hugging' could give another meaing to 'giving a little wood'? Of course, I live in among the big trees (Puget Sound.)

Same here. I think the problem was that it crossed over from being a parody and became a little to much of how Beck really acts. There was no subtlty... it quickly became something where I heard everyone in the room stop laughing and start mumbling aloud "actually, that's exactly how Beck behaves."

It was sad... but I wondered later if that wasn't the point that Stewart was trying to make.

Car Talk is probably the best show on radio (let alone NPR). The Magliozzi brothers rule.

NPR is, without doubt, the only fair and balanced radio in the United States. It's the only place I have found where the majority of the shows will not only present both sides of a complicated issue, but where the speakers and the guests will actually sit down and simply TALK about the issues instead of screaming about them.

I can see why most people who demand to listen to biased political comentary (and only their side of it) would find it boring; you have to know how to think for yourself in order to listen to the majority of the shows presented on NPR because most of the shows don't make any attempt to give you your talking points on what you're supposed to think.

I like NPR. But I also take some of their callers-in with a grain of salt. It seems that conservatives are afraid to do the call, so you get to hear a lot from the liberal choir. Can it be said that NPR caters to the Left? It sure seems that way. Do they pick issues and interviewees who's values reflect the Left, mostly? Maybe. What do you think?

But... I suspect that most rightist callers couldn't hold up to the scrutiny and light of reason, when exposed to the quality of nuanced questioning and debate, on NPR.

Garrison Keillor. What can you say about him? He puts on a good show. But he didn't win any points from my fellow atheists when he denigrated them a few times in his columns, etc. He's awash with religion.

Hi CJ. How is Steward "like the funniest man in the Universe?" Does he do similar material? Better yet, who is the funniest man? Or, like, are you like one of those folks who overuse the word "like"?

I can't help it, but I love Olbermann's show... The guy did ESPN's SportsCenter, for pete's sake.

Sorry, Sully but Olberman wasn't even the funniest dude on Sports Center. Chris Berman is way funnier. See exhibit A...
