Ok, if somebody dared you to walk around in 1970's clothes for a week, would you do it?

Why yes, and why no?

Keep in mind there would be no monetary compensation, and you'd have to dress that way to work, store, cutting your grass, etc. Would you do it? For those of you who may not know what the 70's attire was, here's just a sample pic. I will share why I'm asking this later. Please answer this social experiment as honest as possible.

Outlaws! Your most intelligent post EVER!!! Applause Big Grin

To your question, bought - if I could pick and choose among the various high-fashion items I had at the time (HA!), I could do it. I'd still go for the bell-bottom jeans, sandals, peasant tops, jumpsuits (I looked damn fine in those things, though going to the bathroom was a PITA), minis, maxi-coats, boots ...

Just don't ask me to repeat the hairstyles or the maternity clothes. Not so great - well, the maternity clothes were certainly great in size, but not in style. Wink

Damm--man I had a ******ing black T with the Zig Zag dude on it. My mother must have thrown it out 10 times and I fished it out of the trash every time.-LOL Cool

I have a few creepy pics of me in a baby blue leisure suit--I laugh my head off every time I see it.

No way I'd wear that shat again-

I saw some tops just like these at the mall this week! Coming back in style!

Plus hubby dresses almost the same as he did back in those days....

Would I wear 70's clothes for a week?

Not on a bet, not on a dare, not even on a double-dog dare. I graduated in 1977 surrounded by platform shoes, feathered hair and polyester stretch pants. And what the women did was almost as silly.

You know that look a woman gets when she wants sex? Neither do I.

Thank you for answering the question.

Does this make us slaves to current fashion(s)?

No. Always hated those too-long pants legs and too-tight pants. At the time I had to go to fat peoples stores to get pants with usable pockets.

Nowadays there is HipHop fasions, I love it, just need to add a belt to keep them up around my waist.

Today it would probably be considered child abuse, but I vividly remember buying one of my kids the overalls/t-shirt outfit. The saving grace was the everyone else dressed their kids in the same fashions.

My favorite was a Sweet Home Alabama T that had the outline of the state in Confederate Stars and Bars with a big 'ol leaf superimposed on it...it was ok to wear anywhere in San Diego but wearing it got me shook down by the, "man" in Anniston Alabama in the summer of 1978...Big Grin
